The hw80 was made to run at between 18 and 20 fbs where it was at its best , they had to detuneit for the uk market, 👍
Got to be one of the best sprngers on the planet if you buying a gun to last they won't let you Down there a bit naughty with a air forse spring
I have gone from pcp back to springer......and have just bought a 98 superb
I have 3 pcps bsa scorpion hw 100 and the new r12 bsa... I went to the gun shop he said hey you want a springer to do up. I said hmmm ok then. He said 10 pound. Ok I'll take it... it was a hw35 done it up looks brand new it's a 1974 model no safty catch
Theoben rapid mk2 (still got mine ) ... and the BSA super 10 BBK (still got mine) followed by the HW100 .. then the s410 classic , daystate air ranger 💪🏻
In the UK with 12 sub ft-lb restriction it has no use to buy a HW80. The HW95 will be a better choice. The 80 is a rifle that should deliver it's full potential. My 80K is in .25cal and a beast.
Lad on the left stop interupting your mate and let him talk about his gun ffs
What oil did you use on your stock please...
I got one 177 nice could sell?
I have a Paul Short tuned 80k in 177. The only one I'll never sell.
🤔 ...... S10 BBK by far the best in my opinion hence how i still own six of them ...... 😁
Hi where did you purchase the butt spacer , I searched cap and nothing came up , thanks
Tell posh to stop talking over you ,its sooooo annoying
Had my Hw100 "ratworked'...nice bunch of chaps who know their stuff....however my Hw100 didn't shoot any better accuracy wise....just had tench reg fitted into lighter cylinder..gave a few more shots...I guess you can't improve on perfection 😉
Hey nice to see you two back with the witty banter keep on making em
I have a hw100 and thinking of getting a artworks tune is it worth it then lads
Same my first air rifle was a smk db4 22 with pack of markson pellets £30 brand new
Tactical stocks look great ,but I find I miss the wood stock as I'm ultimately a traditionalist ...that stock on the hw100 is just awsome 👌
Hello everyone, I'd humbly say, Every man's home is his castle! We all have things we like and things we don't. It will appeal to some and not others. My rifle of choice is the HW80K. I've wanted one all my life. The barrel blueing, lock up, machining, power. It's my rifle of choice depending on what I'm doing, but just a fantastic piece of kit and love holding it, liaising with it and shooting it.
Hello Gentlemen, Thank you for your review of the Weihrauch HW98. The model you have there looks fantastic. I love the craftsmanship of the metalwork and the sound of the lockup. All Weihrauchs are like a bank vault fantastic engineering.. You talk about people going straight to pcp's when beginning air rifle shooting. I would think they'll be put of by a few things with springers. The recoil, having to practice artillary hold, having to do way more practice and monitor the practice properly. Generally having to load every pellet after every shot, not having a ten /twelve shot magazine are all factors that won't help. I think it's a bit like learning to drive. You wouldn't begin to drive in an automatic as you know you'll have to do it all again in a geared car. You have to bite the bullet, so to speak, and face the music. There's no other way. I like springers and pcp's. I'd love to use my springers more, although sometimes they're just not practical at all. They're heavy and loud. That said, they're hugely satisfying to be successful with. To me, both pcp's and springers are all part of my airgunning journey. I love them both and try to use both as much as possible. Good luck to you both, I've enjoyed your footage, thank you.
Hello Gentlemen, Thank you for your review of this beautiful, capable Weihrauch HW100 air rifle. I was sorry to learn your Super Ten had outstayed it's welcome and has moved on for parts. I have, use, and like very much, a BSA R12 CLX PRO. I think on the grand scheme of things, with great respect to BSA, it may not be quite a Daystate or the rifle you both have in front of you in general opinion. However, that said, my R12 to me is beautiful. It puts pellet on pellet at forty yards. I've had absolutely no problems at all with it. It has a great shot count, and the magazine has a counter that counts down your pellets as they are used. I don't think you can ask any more from an air rifle than that. There is a gentleman on Utube, who shoots, from Ireland called Vermin Hunters, I think? He uses a BSA Super Ten. I think it's in FAC. I really enjoy seeing him using his Super Ten, and it seems very accurate and successful. I just wondered in your capacity as a Super Ten enthusiast and being very fond of it, do you agree with my opinion? I can't deny I wouldn't like to own Weihrauch HW100. However, if my BSA is putting pellet on pellet at 40 yards, I don't see the point as its another air rifle to spend time with and be competent with when all that time could be used with one very capable air rifle. Eyes like golf balls?? Lol. Thank you, Ian.
I’ve still got some Airgun magazines from the ancient world - Sporting Air Rifle and Airgun World (in binders) from the mid eighties - before PCPs.
Had a few hw ,and the 80 was a beast with a little know how easily double the power ,,,
That really is a thing of beauty! Did the stock come like that as standard, or has it been 'worked on'.
Shame you never put a video up of shooting it :(
Own a HW35 had 45 years now excellent rifle
I discussed Theoben Rapid on a Theoben forum. For him owning a Rapid 7 mk2 was like belonging to a snooty UK institution. He started attacking my personal choice like he hated anything modern as if he was stuck in a time-loop and refused to come out and adapt to the modern age. I'm sure its good for rabbiting in .22, but its just a purely British choice, not much else going for it. No-one else in the world talks highly of such air-rifles, thank goodness. We have Jefferson state air rifles, Quackenbush big-bore, AEA HP SS, AirForce. Texan, Sumatra Dragon Claw which demonstrate real power in airgun technology. I'd take your Brocock Sniper XR magnum in .25 and Daystate Woverine .303 as great Air rifles, if thats any comfort to you.
HW80 (R1) was never intended to replace the HW35. The HW80 was developed in conjunction with Beeman who wanted what he called a "Magnum Air rifle". It was developed in isolation & not to replace any HW model. To reach the Magnum level it has a bigger piston tube diameter with associated bigger & heavier piston & more swept volume. The HW80 has to be restricted for UK use & is barely ticking over at 12ft lbs. I prefer my Webley Longbow, lighter, Walther barrel, carbine length & so accurate, trigger very close to the Record. Best BB Webley released & designed in conjunction with Venom. Longbow is better than the HW95 (95 is not that good a rifle TBH, 99S is better if you are lucky enough to get one that doesn't gaul).
WHERE HAVE YOU GONE JOHNNY AND RYANNNNN
We are still here just finding more time to bring the channel back hold tight
Regulated gun is £675
I like my 100 the best out of all my 14 rifles. A lovely rifle. I'm 77 I've been shooting for 67 of those years. My first rifle was a Webley junior, that I was given on my tenth Christmas.
You guys need to review the Webley Nemesis X PCP version with its few upgrades
Hello may friend I bay hatsan factor rc model you help me wich model solid pellet very good ?
Webly
It would be great if it would say in the video description, that this is about a 12fpe rifle. You brits seem do love airguns, so many videos about them are about 12fpe guns. For most people, your reviews aren't really relevant. Build quality, haptics,... will be the same, but the performance won't. The manufacturers won't optimize it perfectly for such a small market, an fac gun will always be better adjusted from factory. That said, once you know, what pellets it prefers, you can optimize it for that. Mine is good for 4 and a half mags, i won't shoot 4,5 mags. i shoot 4. If it was adjusted to that, i could still get 56 shots but with a flatter trajectory. There is room for optimisation, because they are build, to work with many different types of ammo. On the brit market, there is far more room for improvement with proper tuning, imho. Btw: With an fac rifle, you don't really need a crono, to check if it has the advertised power. Knock in the numbers into a ballistic calculator, get a light enough pellet, (light pellets are less efficient than heavier ones, the rifle will be slightly underpowerd, with them) bang, if it cracks the sound barrier, it's fine, if it doesn't, it might need adjustment.
After deciding to buy another spring rifle, I wanted to get one of these, only to find out they are not available in America. I ended up pre-ordering a nickel HW35e with a dark walnut stock. It is going to be shot with peep sights, and I`m not in the least sorry about my change of directions. It will fit in nicely with my other springers, R1 carbine .20, Pro Sport walnut .22, and a mint 124D.
Yes Ryan you know your the better shooter.👌 Don't tell Johnny... 😂😂😂
Excellent video, what BSA scope is that you have on the HW80 ?
As far as a collectors perspective which is better? Hw35e .22 or a hw80 mk1 .177 w brass trigger? 35 being a 1980 & 80 being a 1981?
Those mk1 stocks with the angular Fore end are quite sought after, made of walnut rather than beech too i think? A well looked after 35E will hold its value well, but as for overall rarity Its the Vixen editions that can fetch a good chunk of money.
As much as I loved my Airsporter S in .177 cal, it’s beautiful looks we’re not matched to its scope rails which were ridiculously shallow and always suffered scope creep. The Weihrauch HW80 was far far superior.
Loads of laughs on xmas day, cheers guys just reminds me of all the fantastic bollocks talked about airguns, please keep it up it is a great service to mankind.
What a beautiful gun😍
Mine is an Beeman R1 carbine in .20 cal. I try to shoot it at least 15-20 times every day down in the basement. I bought it new about seven years ago, and after a few hundred shots it blew the piston seal because of a manufacturing defect. I sent it to John in PA to have him repair it and detune it. He worked with Vortek to come up with a solution, and then buttoned the piston and some other stuff that he works his magic on. Now the rifle shoots JSB`s at an average of 673 fps, with an ES of 4 fps. I shoot at 13 yards in the basement and it will shoot group after group that are basically the same hole. It is much easier to cock, which is what I wanted the most, and is a pleasure to shoot. Once in a while I use it to shoot a squirrel, and it puts the pellet exactly where needed in the old noggin. There is a good reason that these are considered to be heirloom rifles, my rifle will be a true joy to me for my lifetime, and then on to the next person for their lifetime.
Can someone confirm the shot count from a fill? Sounds ambitious
Limited and ugly
Hi your hw35 is not an export it is an hw35 luxurious. The export did not have a raised cheek piece. The 35 luxus is more rare. The airsporter is a great gun and very reliable and my 1982 .177 mk7 done 11.2 ft lbs with wasps back in the day. I still have it and it always works and is even smother with modern tuning. The down side is the dove tail scope groves. They were rubbish. Not long enough not deep enough especially compared to the then German guns. I find new spanish made spring powered bsa,s are rubbish and all new guns i buy now are German but back in the 80,s i bought british and look where that got us.
I don't think the hw80 was ever intended to replace the hw35 it was more of an alternative to the FWB sport and the Original (diana) mod 45 the beeman shaped version you have there replaced the original hw80mk1 which in my opinion is far better looking than the beeman type stock you have there. So essentially you have an 80mk2. All great guns of course as they have the same action. I would ditch the brass asap and order some original parts and a set of original open sights to make it look as it should and add value. Tbt kits are good. No need for a pcp with such a good self contained hunting rifle.😎
This is like the top gear of air gun shows keep it up..
I have boxes of airgun magazines in my loft, most in pristine condition lots of them from that era and I have that issue
Did you buy the limited edition in the end? I’ve just got one brand new after watching your video’ haha in love with it 🙏
Unfortunately I haven’t yet but I will be looking for one in the future
