Great information. Businesses are bombarded with information that comes in email or mail that is worded in such a way that it is hard to tell if it is a requirement or a solicitation. I have clients who are nonprofits who get bombarded with SAM Registration and 990 solicitations that are really hard to tell if they are necessary for compliance. As long as they are tracking their registrations and filings and know they are completed on time, these usually fall in solicitations and can be discarded. It's so hard to tell sometimes though and can be very time consuming. I'd love to hear what you have to say about how to identify solicitations from official notices. Thanks for sharing Dunlap Law, especially the part about pushing back!

Now SBA has released the update application for Schedule C : can I re-apply for second PPP LOAN since now SBA are using the gross receipts on schedule C please ? and when can I apply because I just received my first PPP LOAN a few days ago ? Quick note: Virginia's DOLI approved the new rules on July 15 (slightly delayed from what we expected). They will go into effect sometime during the week of July 27th - depending on when they are published in a Richmond newspaper. Yes, I know that sounds ridiculous, but that's what the regs say. I'm working hard to get a brief out on these regs. Stay tuned!

Hello! There are a lot of people that are qualified to do PPP who are now looking to do PUA because the banks have been so...unforthcoming. PUA is even more confusing. A letter came out from Commissioner Hess' office that states that people receiving PUA will have to self-attest that their "business closed or they are unemployed." I am very concerned about this language -- it is vague and does not define what it means to say that my business is closed. As a self-employed person with just me as a single member LLC...does this mean I cannot do ANY work? My understanding for UI and the provisions of the CARES Act is that underemployed people should also be receiving benefits. I can't really "close" my business -- I still have bills to pay, A/R to track down, a website to maintain, etc... I'd love some clarification.
