How to set the time on a Fleck 2510 head along with setting regeneration frequency. This is for a filter only. These heads can be set up for a softener. The setting of the time will be the same either way. The only difference will be the time they regenerate. The regeneration time can be changed. Call us for help on this - 800-698-9655

    I have owned a 2500 since 1992 and rebuilt it completely in 2017. Completely reliable, always has been. In my case, I like the softener to regen later in the night, say after 4am. So, I just set the clock time 2 hours behind actual. I believe the regen starts at 2:30am when triggered. Therefore, if you want to adjust regen start time, just adjust the actual time back as well.

    My dial will not advance. When the little black box moves forward, it stops once it comes to the small dot. It used to click as it moved forward, now it acts like it’s stripped. Might something be stuck or is something broken inside?

    I have a Kinetico System with the Iron remover. It is very clogged with Iron and is not letting very much pressure through. Can I clean the heads without damaging them? Then of course put them back together and have my system working like it used to? Do I ever need to replace the media from years of use? Thanks, Gary

    I have an old softener. I can't even find a brand name on it so I can google or TH-cam instructions. It has no dial that I can see to set the time and the time of regeneration. It has the skip dial but I am never sure if I sure push the little things in or pull them out on the day to regenerate. I wish i could add a photo here.

    • @berngirl5624
      @berngirl5624 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does have a dial, and it says "time of day" but I am not sure if that means time of day or time of day to run it.

    This was a very helpful instructional video - Thanks Jeffrey. We have had our Kinetico water softener for about 12 years, which is four more than our first non-Kinetico unit. But, I had problems twice (first covered under warranty and the second one cost me $250). By following your instructions I was able to fix my unit, understand how it works, and have confidence again in this unit. One thing that I noticed is that when it is working right and recharging there is a slight "gear sound." When I was having problems (recharging would take close to a day, would recharge almost daily, and occasionally the water would taste salty) that sound was absent. There was a lot of sediment (we have a well) so I need to get a whole house water filter. But, for now you saved the day!

    Great video. I have an iron filter, similar to this softener. One of the backwash modes always stops halfway through until I manually advance to purge mode. The window on the top is almost black. I am assuming that there is stuff in the regeneration gears. What is the best way to really clean them? Should I just soak in citric acid? Should I disassemble the gears completely and clean that way? Does anything need to be lubed with food safe underwater lubricant?

    on top of level one the dial is full of mold and debris does this mean it is this bad? or can we follow this for a cleaning? Also we are running potassium in the system when cleaning the main barrel do i add water to it when filling the potassium?

    The 2 plastic e-clips were difficult to remove from my system; perhaps the installers used PVC pipping instead of copper; therefore, I discontinued removing the e-clips. Regardless, I was able to proceed with a little bit of water pressure release incident. With your instructions, I was able to fix the "stuck" level one head preventing the cycle. This video saved us a $199 service visit. Thank you so so so so so much!

    Nice Video. However, it should have been mentioned that you are working with the Backwash Only Version ( no Brine Valve Piston and Start time is 12 midnight ) and not the water softener version ( that does have a Brine Valve Piston on the left side and has a Start Time of 2 a.m. from the factory ). Also, I'd point out this is the 3200 timer assembly, which has been and is used on other Valves, and not just the Fleck 2510.

    Great video, I have a Quad 50 unit, did the level 1 & 2 clean/rinse/reassemble, but the system doesn't stop after completing a cycle at the 6 o'clock position, you can hear water going through. I can manually move it forward and it will stop. It never stops at the 12 o'clock position. I tried to move it forward to stop it, but it never does. The only time the system will stop is in the 6 o'clock position, and only after I move it forward. Do you know what is causing this? Thanks Dave

  • @Traveroninrice5
    @Traveroninrice5 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video, and did the level one and two (cleaoned/rinsed/reassembled) as you covered, and it all went well, sort of. The reason for doing this is a complete water pressure loss when in the backwash cycle, but only on the "right" side of the dial (cycle between 3 and 6 o'clock). I can't figure it out - do I need to go a level depper in the stack, or look at the resin tanks?
