Sorry if this noob question. What does ailments do at this boss. I know they are needed but I don't understand the mechanic. When I went in solo the boss didn't seem to regen hp so do they lower defence or something?
You can get the information by reading the boss details before you enter, it says that depending on its status ailments (bleed, frostbite) the damage it takes increases. So no hp regen but they are a must if you want to deal damage (mark can still allow you to deal dmg without ailments but not as much as if the boss have full ailments stacks)

How does it feel not being able to fill the switch as usual?
It's a pain xD at least for this boss it doesnt impact as much as F17 but you can't play optimally with that bug and i hate that so i didnt relly on switch too much for this fight (which only works if you have fb so bandai might not be that innocent in the eternity they're taking to fix that bug ^^)

I'm mainly a swordsman too i was just a bit faster with spear, with sword my best is 6:00 though i dont have any earth skills ^^

Always.critical OoO so strong So what is your passive?
For the crit i'm using samurai asuna (46% crit rate when your hp > 99%) and archer's dagger sinon (crit dmg +34% when your hp > 99%), the rest of the crit comes from koharu with an eugeo axe skill that raise my crit rate according to my max hp (should be around 50%) for 15s, would be better if i have tactician argo but i dont have it sadly ^^

What's that 170sec attack buff
That's the buff from "Serpent mark rice cracker". It's a food you can get at the merchant on floor 10 and which raise attack by 5% for 3min.
