Totally agree. Your board is a real joy to watch.
@@5stargeneral603 much appreciated!
Always good to check your math like you did - helps you catch any errors in your purchases!
@@GW36_Enthusiast basic math abandon’s me when the camera is on!
Is not reserach before building new units (you got new tech enabling new builds right)?
Yes it does and you get to place and move jet and rocket immediately
@@PMMagro if you mean the rocket and free jet, they are for achieving a Soviet objective
Misspoke on E Ukraine - 9 infantry 1 Jet
I’m interested in any viewers opinions on what they think how the war is going?
There is a mountain border going from Northern Manchuria to Eastern Manchuria, when you go roundel to roundel. However, the cavalry could have moved to Western Manchuria, then come in from that side, so no terrain penalty.
I dont think donets kuban touches the landzone of Stalingrad. So that infantry couldnt move there.
Good catch! Will rectify
Wess79ful is correct, Donets-Kuban does not touch Stalingrad.
6 infantry in Eastern Ukraine
Ugh why do I keep calling the CCP the Comintern 😢
Hambone's Law: "Camera goes on, brain goes off." 🤣
Does surrounding a city negate fortifications? (I dont have the rule book on hand...) Konigsburg has forts.
@@MarkLees-n7g in my haste I did forget to put the fort out in the setup. Fortunately, it didn’t effect the battle. I think fort bonus would offset against it being surrounded? I’ll check that out
Convoy raiding took 2 Rolls are even +2 fleet sub Germany gets +1 Radar +1 LRA. Sorry to help the Axis looks like GW36 missed it.
@@bostonbruce4777 yeah was having a moment on camera. Thanks Bruce
I did miss this!
Keep up the good work on these videos! 3:57 Russian Tech Rolls. I believe the Russians should only have 4 tech rolls at this point (4 major factories), since the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact ended when Russian declared war on Germany, and also Russia lost the "Rapid Industrialization" strategic objective when Germany took two Russian home territories on their turn 9.1.
@@crewchief9942 I believe rapid industrialisation relates to holding all cities.
I double-checked, yes it's just the cities.... "city land zones....". OK, good.
How do you see things shaping up?
I'm catching up on this war now so I'm sure you got your own perspective far off on the future. And from back here, the declaration of war this turn was a surprise! Yet it's one that makes a lot of sense in hindsight. With Japan focusing heavily on its southern expansion and German taking heavy losses in Europe, the time was ripe to start an attritional war. Already it's bearing fruit as you've check the German counter attacks and made them bleed heavily while keeping them in Europe. Now it's just a question of can you consolidate your mass in time. Once you do, there's precious little they can summon to stop it so early in the game
28:57 There is no rail connection between Southern Belorussia and Lubelskie. Can you clarify what you are scorching here?
@@GW36_Enthusiast Lubelskie & Warsaw
2:57 "We declared war on Russia." I know this was just a slip of the tongue, but the Axis readily welcome you joining our war on Russia!!! Down with Russia! 3:02 Loved the sound effects! That success for Improved Factories was crucial and right in the nick of time! You moved an infantry from Kerulan to Northern Manchuria, but they do not touch. You could have your cavalry reach there though (Chita to Northern Manchuria) and have the 2 infantry move from Kerulan to Western Manchuria. Note Königsberg starts the game with a fortification. So his 2 infantry-class units were boosted by 2 and he has 2 fortification first strikes at "5". They missed with "11" and "8". The +2 boost from the fortification didn't alter the battle.
The infantry class units were only boosted by 1 the city was surounded
Such high quality painting on those sculpts! Your set is amazing! Viewers should crank up to HD and watch this on a PC to really see how beautiful the pieces are!!!
@@GW36_Enthusiast thank you friend
I highly agree.
Sikang had 1 KMT militia, in addition to the infantry. We PBE'd this. On R1, the militia missed with an "11". On R2, the militia missed with a "4". At this point, it is 1 infantry, 1 cavalry attacking 1 militia, 1 infantry. At this point, it is likely Sarge's Shell Hole would retreat.
You have such beautifully painted pieces! Also, the CCP is doing great. I'm sorry about Republican Spain. At least the income roll was good! :)
@McKayBennett things are getting interesting. I just DoW’d on the Germans. Thanks for the compliments on the board. Its been a lot of work
@@Sargesshellhole 😯
@McKayBennett I concur with your assessment! His set is amazing!!!
Note that you have Jet Fighters as requiring a "9", but it actually only requires an "8". It didn't matter, but it might make a difference in future rolls.
What game is this a RIP off off axis and allies
@@seanbumstead1250 I would say its inspired by A&A but its so much more involved
No problem with the annexation since it was marked. Always mark the important stuff. However, I'm not sure you can blitz to annex both. If you can, no big deal. If you can't, you could use one of the infantry from Lenningrad if needed.
Had 50 IPP Spent - 1 Submarine LL 6 2 x AAA = 8 1 x Railway in Mtn 4 International Red Aid 2 Saved - 30 + 32 Income + 3 MRP = 65 next turn
I had you starting the turn at 24 on the production chart, not 25. I had you starting the turn with 49 IPP in the bank. This is because you cannot collect for East Poland until you hit full production. You spent 20 and saved 29 IPP. You then go up to 31 IPP on the production chart (+7). So I have you with 63 for next turn, assuming MRP holds through the end of the turn.
TBD couldnt go thru the White Sea canal only subs can.
Thanks Bruce. 👍
8:46 Even your Polish militia look so badass!
Your plane could just fly from Southern Belorussia 1 space to Western Ukraine. Although your land units cannot move through impassable terrain, the planes can fly over the Pripet Marshes.
Glad you got some income going for the Soviets. Republican Spain was a bit extreme but you got their gold reserve it seems (following history in that sense). Communist China at least is hard nut to crack.
@@PMMagro yes the Republicans didn’t put up much of a defence
I'm sorry about Spain. That was super rare, the luck he had. I hope the Soviets do better!
@@McKayBennett Thank you! I’m hoping I don’t squashed in China as well!
Those are some really nicely detailed pieces! Some of the most detailed I have even seen. I can't imagine how much time and money that took! I wish I had that much time and money. However, I still am building my piece base for Global War.
@@McKayBennett thanks so much for the feedback. Many hours of painting over several years
What was the CCP recruitment roll ( I know it is unlikley 1/12 but)?
@@PMMagro it failed at a 7
Rotten luck, mate! 😭
Swings and roundabouts!
Note that only Major Power militia may move (and only then in Home Country). Since the Spanish Republicans are a minor power, they may not move militia.
@@GW36_Enthusiast 👍👍
Did I miss the Spain roll for recruitment?
I rolled a 9 unfortunately
No Pasaran! I expect you to keep the Spanish republic safe. Your map looks great.
@@PMMagro I believe the Nationalists already have taken Madrid! 😭
My God! Your board is a stunner! So beautiful!
@@GW36_Enthusiast very kind
You forgot to roll for tech. We PBE'd your roll for Advanced Mechanized Infantry and you rolled a 1, so you failed.
Phenomenal analysis! I love hearing about the behind the scenes situation in Kwangtung! Totally agree that Kwangtung is an important territory to take! You and I both agree that USSR sent so much Lend-lease to CCP that it weakened USSR. Just oogling your set-up. Superb! Wow! This is amazing. I recorded my post game analysis before watching yours, but we say so many similar things! I agree that you waited so long that Japan missed the opportunity to use your "Surprise Attack" special ability. We are on the same page. We both discussed Southern India. Another area of agreement was my winnowing of your forces like the task force that took Aden. Japan can do so many clever attacks, but the Commonwealth can punish them with retaliation. If the Allies gang up on Japan, she can be fragile. I like your description of Japan as a "Paper Tiger." Nice analysis of the weakness of America's navy being so capital ship heavy. Your Guam attack worked perfectly. We killed your naval transports, but we left your troops alone. That was clever. Thanks for the nice compliments, my friend!
Great recap
@@bostonbruce4777 thanks Bruce
Japan started this turn with 48. You spent 44, saving 4. You end the turn with 29 + 4 bonus income + 4 saved = 37 IPP in the bank. You do not hold Borneo (USA does).
Reviewing Japanese Heavy Battleship production. On T10, you start your first HBB. T11, you advance it to stage 2. T12, you start 2 HBB and finish your 1st. T13, you start 1 HBB and advance 1 to stage 2. This means you end T13 with 2 HBB at stage 3, 1 at stage 2, and 1 on the board. T14, you start 1 HBB, advance 2 HBB from stage 3 to stage 2, and place your 2nd HBB on the board. T15, you finish the 2 HBB at stage 2. At this moment, you have 1 HBB at stage 3 and 4 HBB on the board. This turn, you purchase 2 stages of HBB. 1 HBB is started and the one at stage 3 advances to stage 2. You have 4 HBB on the board.
At 10:30, you place a heavy battleship in sea zone P15, but you didn't have one at stage 2. It was at stage 3. So I have you with 4 heavy battleships in sea zone P15, one at stage 3 and one at stage 2.
At 8:05, you are spot on with your fuel marker that your fighter on MAP only had a range of 1. You count, "1, 2..." This would have been too far if you flew over Japan, but your move was still legal because sea zones P15 and P16 are adjacent. So it was just one move. 8 )
Counting sea zones is not your thing my friend ahahah
You could have gone in port in Kwangtung, but I don't think it would have been wise!
@@GW36_Enthusiast true could have ended up being a KMT navy!
Love your camouflaged fortifications!
Hainan(the island) has a cavalry or infantry for Jpan right?
Mao & CCP forcing your hand? Interesting :)
@@PMMagro its getting late in the game I thought I would hit him in Kwangtung while he had no AAA and was on the coast
Those defending rolls were obscene! I’ve never seen so many hits
@@timewarp1994 that was crushing
10:05 "Hopefully, our luck improves..." This proved to not be the case!
@@GW36_Enthusiast 😭
The Common Wealth has Anti-Submarine Warfare technology, so convoy line defense rolls are a "2" against each convoy raiding submarine (not a 3), so the Japanese raiding submarines survived this turn. Reference V4.2.1 rules, 8.2.1, and 10.9.
@@crewchief9942 I should have checked before rolling - you are correct. Good news for me though! ASW also gives the Brits another +1 to their defensive roll as well as a + 1 for radar.
Just so you understand the flow of play: You perform all your combat movement and declare all your combats during the combat movement phase. Then, you proceed to the combat phase where you roll dice. I think you believe you declare both your combats and your combat movements, but do not do the movement until after you have rolled the dice. Does this make sense? During the combat movement phase, you can say something like, "I'm going to move these units here to attack here [You move those units into that battle]... and I will move these units there to attack there [You move those units into that battle]." Then, you roll your dice. After resolving all your combats, you then proceed to non-combat movement and more movement takes place. Trying to be helpful! 8 )
@@GW36_Enthusiast Yes - I need to physically move the pieces rather than just say. Then roll everything. Ok I think I got that straightened out.
@@Sargesshellhole Exactly! ☺
