      Interesting discussion - who replaced Judah (Judas)? Matthias or Paul? I say Matthias was man's carnal choice (chosen by casting lots - after departure of Jesus, & before arrival of Holy Spirit). I believe Paul was God's choice. We never hear the name Matthias again, verses Paul - the most influential (non God) man in Christian history.

    That's not entirely true about the elderly, some of them are actually destroying the church by insisting. They be cared for first while neglecting the youth. At least that's what I see going on in my area.

      U r correct. This is also happening in many older dying churches. People wed to by-gone eras singing hymns from hymn books is a sign of this. Playing old style organ music I personally like hymns on old hammond organs. But not every song & not at the cost of running out the youth. Also, old hammonds can be played by young musicians in a new stylish modern way, with other musicians. I also like the trend of modernising old hymns with modern rearrangements.

    Thanks for the message, that was very insightful about the 14 names. I tried to leave you a comment on a recent video about the corn in the KJV. There's been archaeological evidence of both corn storage areas in Egypt as well as artwork depicting the harvesting of corn specifically in Egypt both dated thousands of years ago. Additionally, Spurgeon's 1859 essay called "Corn in Egypt" made no mention or acknowledgement that there was any controversy over the reality of corn in Egypt in Bible times. I included links to the sources, the archaeological evidence article was written in May of this year. Maybe the links were the reason the comment was auto-deleted. But the point I was making is that this notion of discrediting the KJV by insisting there was no corn in ancient Egypt came about after the 1850's at least, so the English word of God comes down to faith: Does one have more faith in it or more faith in the lying claims of men. So many lies about our world, such as the term "dinosaur" and macro evolution, came about in the latter half of the 1800's. There are also many terms in the KJV that seem like mistranslations on the surface, but when taken together with the original Greek and Hebrew we gain a greater understanding than we would had if we only considered one language or the other. There is a reason why God's Word is revealed in progressive steps to us and purpose behind when those steps are revealed. There logically can only be one true and correct English Word of God, and there are endless examples why the NKJV and the modern "translations" are not it. My very first Bible as a child was a NKJV, so I understand the preference for it. But the KJV is the only English book that has God's historical hallmark of approval for a reason. There's a reason why as little Scripture as most people even remember today that they overwhelmingly remember the words of the KJV. There's one more point that I've only come to begin understanding recently that the history of the KJV itself is not protected by God, only the words of masoretic, textus receptus, and the actual translation of those words into the KJV is what's protected by God. If the 'His-Story' of this world since the end of the first century AD can be fabricated, then even the history of the English Bible itself can be fabricated. I see no Scriptural reason why God had any obligation to protect history since the cannon of Scripture was closed. In other words, I don't know if there even was a King James or a Constantine, but I know my KJV Bible is truly God's inerrant, inspired Word in my language.

    • @ttbministry
      @ttbministry 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't seen credible evidence of corn outside the America's prior to 16th Century AD. I got your post via email (then saw it auto-delete online). So I saw your links & read them - but didn't think the link was credible. As for the Spurgeon sermon. I read it. He had no clue about the history of corn. With regards inerrancy - Only the original signatured writings were inerrant. Copies of originals will have errors. Also, inerrancy never applies to a translation into 2nd language.

    • @7F0X7
      @7F0X7 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ttbministry It's one thing to disagree on the exact meaning of a passage that's meant to be metaphorical or an idiom, but you're saying the Bible is flat wrong because some so-called "scientist" says there was no corn in the holy land or Egypt back then. How far are you going to take doubt in the KJV? You said in this video that the NKJV missed something. So are you the arbiter of what parts of each Bible translation are valid? I'm also very sorrowful that you doubt the inerrancy of the manuscripts too just because they aren't the literal first copy. The individual manuscripts may have missing words for one reason or another, but the collection of several thousands of them together provide a truly complete and perfect copy as they back each other up and fill in the gaps that an individual copy may be missing. How can you even claim to teach the Bible word for word when you cherry pick the words?

    • @ttbministry
      @ttbministry 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The KJV was an outstanding translation back in the 17th century. It is outdated today, we don't speak that language today. But it is still the Word of God. & praise God, many people are still blessed by reading it. I am not the arbiter of what is well interpreted in one translation over another. I'm giving my commentary. With regards to doubting inerrancy of "the manuscripts" - every single full hand written manuscript has some minor copying inconsistency when compared with every other manuscript. There is no major doctrine in doubt from these mostly minor differences. Erasmus authored 5 published editions of the Textus Receptus from 1516 to 1535. There were many other revisions & updates of the TR after Erasmus. None of these editions are exactly the same & not one of them matches letter for letter any complete or largely complete manuscript from antiquity. Erasmus (a Catholic of the Augustinian order), was a brilliant man, who did a wonderful job with the resources he had available to him. But Erasmus was not inspired by God to compile the TR as the original 40 or so Bible authors were. The 1611 KJ translators did a wonderful job with the resources available to them, but the fact the KJ was updated & correct with 4 later upgrades & improvements, objectively confirms, it was not perfect in it's original 1611 form. It is the 1769 edition which is most commonly cited today as the King James Version (KJV). My view of inerrancy of Scripture is in alignment with the majority of conservative Bible teachers. Your 2nd sentence in your 3rd paragraph I would agree with. As for your last paragraph. I don't tend to do much claiming. I just do. I teach the Bible systematically, verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book. I am fallible, no one should simply accept what I teach. I don't speak Hebrew or Greek or Aramaic, but do read & listen to conservative expert analysis. If you converse with (or listen to) Bible translators, you will come to understand, it is impossible to have an exact equivalence when you go from 1 language to the next. Teams of translators will struggle with coming up with a word or phrase, to catch most of the essence of the original language, but realise some loss of the original phrase (or word) meaning is inevitable. I regard the KJV & the NKJV & the NASB and many other translations all as the Word of God. Just as the New Testament writers also quoted from both Greek & Hebrew Old Testament manuscripts (that often differ slightly in wording from each other), regarding both sources as the Authoritative Word of God. God bless.

    • @7F0X7
      @7F0X7 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ttbministry I wasn't trying to claim the 1611 was the true KJV, the "1769" is the true KJV as the final copy of God's word needed in our language. I appreciate your encyclopedic knowledge of erasmus, but you're assuming that the story of erasmus is gospel truth. That, and the history of the KJV revisions, are what I'm disputing here. That is part of 'His-Story' that I don't think God has any obligation to protect. It does not matter if every single copy of the manuscripts is flaws so long as they are not all flawed in the exact same way on the exact same verse of Scripture, and with ~5,000 manuscripts that statistically impossible. When you have a sample size that large the copies will always cover for each individual copies' discrepancies. You insist that some loss of the original phrase (or word) meaning is inevitable, but this is God's Word. Either Jesus said his words shall not pass away or he didn't. And if he said that, then we must trust that he means that in every sense of the literal word. When the world's history and so-called science are at odds with the Bible, which source should we cling to?

    • @ttbministry
      @ttbministry 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 1611 KJV was the true original KJV - & it is still the Word of God today. Just as the 1769 KJV was the true 4th revision of the KJV - removing some of the prior obvious errors, & it is also still the Word of God. People speaking English between 1611-1769 were not without the Word of God. Just as English speakers prior to 1611 were not without the Word of God. The vast majority of the 5000 (we're closing in on 6000) Greek manuscripts (along with the many thousands in other languages) now available in the 21st Century, were not available to the 1611 or the 1769 KJV translators & editors. For further history behind the KJV. The Bishops' Bible is an English translation that preceded the KJV. Published in 1568, revised in 1572, and 1602. The first of the fifteen rules given for the guidance of the King James translators stated that the Bishops’ Bible was to be followed “and as little altered as the truth of the original will permit.” The KJV translators heavily relied upon this Bishops' Bible & the Latin Vulgate (both of which are the Word of God). The NKJV is the 5th major revision of the KJV - & it is still the Word of God, using modern English. But even the NKJV (along with all prior KJV) contain some translation errors. Read Acts 13: 20 for a clear King James translation error. There were 2 ways to interpret this approx 450 years, either as their slavery, combined with their wanderings, combined with their conquest (approx 450 years) or the time of the judges (approx 450 years). If you want a more accurate translation on this verse, read for example the NASB or ESV. Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. & they have not, in either the 1611 KJV or the 1769 KJV or the NKJV or the NASB or ESV or the thousands of other translations in the languages of the world. But some translations are of better quality than others.

      Not according to the Bible it's not. I understand this date does not comply with the many timelines corrupted by outside secular details. But having done, extensive work, based purely on Bible details, using the Masoretic text. This is when this occurred. (actually there is a margin of error - which only pushes the date back earlier - As in Hezekiah was king for 29 years, but was it 29 years & 1 day or 29 years & 359 days?) Almost all dates in Christian literature is corrupted from non Biblical sources. Even Bishop Ushers dates, are not in alignment with Scripture. The Bible gives an unbroken timeline of events from the first Babylonian attack at Jerusalem, all the way back to Adam. There are only 19 simple additions required to work out the time gap from Adam to Abraham (as Abram was the 20th generation) & only 25 simple numbers we need to add up to go from Babylonian exile back to Abraham. The Bible specifically does not personally name either Joseph's Pharaoh, or the Moses Pharaoh's. Relying on interpretations of Egyptian dates is unwise.

    • @ttbministry
      @ttbministry 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      God intentionally does not name the Egyptian Pharaoh of the Exodus. I have heard many well meaning experts, try to identify who it was. I have little confidence in their differing conclusions. I have even less confidence in the dates they assign to the Biblical events they purport to speak of. As the dates they give, usually do not fit in with dates provided in the Bible. God veiled his name for a reason.

    Thank for this message, I always learn something new listening to you. Your point about coming to the Bible with hostile intent vs. a desire to learn is so true. I cannot tell you how many supposed "contradictions" I've explained in Scripture just for the non-believer to immediately jump to something else without even conceding the point on the first "contradiction" they brought up. I've gotten to the point where I tell them I'll be happy to explain what you think this contradiction is, but only if you agree up front that you will seriously reconsider where you stand with God if I'm able to provide a reasonable explanation, and the large majority of the time they refuse to acquiesce to that simple request, so I just don't bother in that case. If they are essentially admitting they are coming at this in bad faith, then you lose at step one trying to explain anything to them because they are willfully blind. Since this topic is about Esau and his descendants, I'd like to bring something to your attention from the Encyclopedia Judaica - archive.org/details/encyclopedia-judaica-volume-22/Encyclopedia%20Judaica%2C%20Volume%201/ I met a man online who claimed to be a devout Christian, but had fallen for that replacement theology and rabid Jew-hatred based on his endless insults and baseless accusations. The only accusation he made that was worth addressing was that the Jews in Israel today are essentially all Edomites, as in they are all descendants of Esau and that the Jews *THEMSELVES* claimed this in the Encyclopedia Judaica. He gave me the above source I've linked for you. He didn't give me a precise volume and page number, so I downloaded the entire thing and started doing word searches for 'Edomite' / 'Edom' / 'Esau' to see if his claim was true. But low and behold in every instance I could find throughout the various volumes, those words always resulted in claims of the *EXACT OPPOSITE:* The encyclopedia states over and over that the modern Jews are descended from Jacob while the descendants of Esau/Edom are the *ROMANS.* So of course when I challenged him with numerous citations from his own claimed source he ran away with his tail between his legs, and I never heard from him again. But even so this encyclopedia raises an interesting point: Could the Romans in Bible times actually be the descendants of Esau or at least in part his descendants? I cannot think of any Scripture that confirm nor deny this. However, the book of Romans 9 : 6-13 states the following: "Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." In particular, it states: *but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.* <-- Then it mentions Rebecca who is the mother of Jacob and Esau. So is Paul actually saying the Edomites are also technically "Jews" because they are still technically descended from Isaac even though God hated Esau? Is that the seed that's called from Both Esau and Jacob or is there other Scripture that affirms that the calling of the seed only applies to Jacob's seed exclusively. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

But low and behold in every instance I could find throughout the various volumes, those words always resulted in claims of the EXACT OPPOSITE: The encyclopedia states over and over that the modern Jews are descended from Jacob while the descendants of Esau/Edom are the ROMANS." Sadly - many in Christendom have been deceived by the lie of replacement theology - often (but not always) leading to Jew hating. The Jews in Israel today, are far from a pure blood-line of people. In fact Israel right from the very beginning, were a mixture of different bloodlines. Any talk that starts to get into bloodline purity, is in danger of leading to bigotry. The multi-fold diaspora of Israel, has resulted in a wide diversity of outside families, marrying into what is today, the people of Israel. By the time of Jesus, the mixed blood lines of the Edomites & Jews, were called the Idumeans. The Herodian clan were Idumeans (half Jews). The Samaritans were a mixture of Israel & foreign nations. Even King David had mixed blood lines including Canaanite & Moabite in his near heritage. Being of Israel, being a Jew, is not about purity of blood lines. Every Jew alive today, would have a mixture of Jew & Gentiles blood lines. In fact, Jacob & his 4 wives, weren't Jewish (Semites & Hebrews yes - but not Jewish). Joseph married an Egyptian, I likely a number of Israel's other sons also married outside the family of Israel). So right from the nations very beginning, a mixture of bloodlines. Edom himself, married a mixture of Canaanite & Ishmaelite wives. The Jews are definitely not descended from Edom. The name Jew (as you likely know) comes from the tribe of Judah. Now that doesn't mean some Edomite DNA isn't included in the modern Jewish families (surely there would be tiny remnants of Edomite DNA from intermarriage 2000 plus years ago). But the Edomites as a distinct people group, were wiped out by the Nabateans centuries before the time of Christ. That doesn't mean scatterings of Edom's DNA do not exist in a vast array of modern people groups (they surely would). But no, I don't think there is credible evidence, linking Rome with Edom/Esau. I know there are some Jewish arguments, but they are not strong arguments. Most agree, Edom was conquered & ceased to exist, well before the rise of Rome.

This statement in Malachi relates to the nations Jacob & Esau become , not the original men.
