Coming here after The Lower Decks made me laugh my ass off. XD add in alternate Curzon and nerdy Mariner and I was going ooh lah lah the entire time. Also all the alternate Kims played into one of mom's long standing criticisms of voyager. "Why on earth is Harry an ensign the ENTIRE SHOW?!" The last time I watched this show I was a teenager. Now as an adult I'm rewatching it and not only do the Cardassians, the Dominion and one Kai Wynn hit differently, not only am I highly amused by Jadzia's mischief with Worf, but I now cannot unsee the chemistry between these two. And as for lower decks, it is SOOOO easy to see how Garek could, by his own boasting and no fucks given attitude, have ended up at Starfleet academy if Worf had decided to call his bluff. Add in that he watched his father die twice as a result of war and the only other cardassian who will give him the time of day is Dukat's half bajoran daughter, really he doesn't have any reason other than his species is disliked, to not say "fuck it" and run away to Starfleet. Something like... Worf: He has conducted himself with an unusual amount of honor for a cardassian, but he still lies so flippantly, and to his own allies. I'm considering calling his bluff and actually sending that reccomendation letter. Bashir: You can't be serious. *chuckles* Worf: You did not see how casually he treated enrolling at the academy. Jadzia: If you're going to pull a practical joke like that, at least let someone in admissions know what you're up to. I do know someone. Well Curzon did.
