There is so much stigma associated with pain, whether acute or chronic; so much so I find that people shy away from confronting the real issues. For instance, question like why don't anyone else believe or accept I am in a lot of pain even though the tests healthcare providers ran are normal? The existence of a forum like this should be hailed whereby pain sufferers and their therapists can vent their true feelings. The fact that there are hardly any comments in this chat room would be proof that we have a long way to go - but we can start here I believe!

It can be a lonely journey… because it’s not a shared experience. And what one of the women in this clip says: feeling not believed and socially isolated is almost worse than the pain itself…it’s a double whammy. To be able to express this experience (if this is possible), via dance or any other creative outlet, is wonderful~.
