Martham Ferry Day Boats
Situated on one of the quietest stretches of the Norfolk Broads, the rivers and lakes are full of wildlife and stunning scenery. One hours motor to Hickling Broad and the riverside pub The Pleasure Boat Inn with its large out door seating area and good pub food. Take a right turn and motor along Candle Dyke which leads to Horsey Mere the Horsey Windpump. Or you can go under the bridge at Potter Heigham and explore more of the broads.

Large car park with café and public toilets. Open year round, including Christmas Day. When busy at least two attendants are on duty. When the café is closed the car park is run by Winterton Coastwatch. Parking is by donation in the buckets on gates.

A seal pup and it's mother at Horsey during the pupping season, which starts in November and lasts until late January. In 2015 the colony saw the first ever recorded grey seal twins born in the wild. I was there this week. They’ve lost about 100 feet and now the kiosk where you pay for the car park is about 15 feet from the side. So sad

No, it's a separate business and there is a charge. Prices vary, but start at £1.50.

That's when I knew it and first stumbled on Winterton on sea in 1997. But the cafe is getting very near to the sea now and some of the car park has fallen in and the road that went to the outside table and chairs across from it has gone and the road has crumbled . It is still my favourite bit of coast though :) Happisburgh is fast dissappearing though unfortunately :( The Government doesn't care about parts of the coast in Norfolk Grrrrr.....
Finally to see the church where my great- grandparents(Stewardson) were married according to historical documents while working on the family tree geneology.
