เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 พ.ค. 2016
William Finn and James Lapine’s groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical FALSETTOS returned to Broadway in an all new production from Lincoln Center Theater, and was nominated for Five 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. FALSETTOS revolves around the life of a charming, intelligent, neurotic gay man named Marvin, his wife, lover, about-to-be-Bar-Mitzvahed son, their psychiatrist, and the lesbians next door. It’s a hilarious and achingly poignant look at the infinite possibilities that make up a modern family… and a beautiful reminder that love can tell a million stories.

I think the humor and awkwardness is spot on, but I feel it’s at expense of the song sounding pleasant.
What a voice! Amazing version. Nick and Andrew are both amazing and shouldn't be compared as they are brilliant for different reasons!
Thatcher Jacobs as Jason was amazing. It's a shame that hardly any of his performance was recorded or filmed.
Did it have to cut off there? I wanted to hear mendel
ITS A FRUAD. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I remember during Toursettos, Mendel had a flashlight instead of the airplane light thingies and when he said ‘homosexuals’ he pointed the flashlight at me and my boyfriend at the time- we were blinded, but hell, was he right
Even if it’s not the original, it still goes off
I love them, their voices are beautiful and the choreography was done so smoothly I think I just like the og revival cast better because it’s Christian borle and Andrew Rannells. I don’t like comparing actors but the one thing I did notice was that the chemistry in the og cast was a bit better then this one but it’s also extremely difficult to have better chemistry on stage with someone then Christian Borle and Andrew Rannells do because holy shit it felt too real even in the proshot with them
This jason has so much emotion omg like he’s actually crying props to him 👏
This is nowhere near as good as the OBC, what the hell? They're all sitting so still and stoic. No heart.
This was a great cast, but no one in it was better than young Thatcher Jacobs as Jason (shown here in the very first shot). Unfortunately, very little of his performance can be seen in the brief clips that have been posted on line.
Audrey cardwell is gorge
fantastic !
Falsettos world tour in three words: magic on wheels
I can’t be the only one who hears the damn recorder 0:47
Whilst I absolutely adore the revival cast, I really do not understand how people hate on this one. They are so good and are so freakin’ talented. And the do sing it in different ways and play the characters differently but you have to remember that he are acting as the part of Whizzer not as how Andrew Rannells played Whizzer.
ugh I cannot believe I got to see this live
Holy crap, I haven’t anybody else but the original cast sing all the songs and I never had a desire to hear anybody else, but holy crap I’m glad I came upon this video because he sounded phenomenal. His tone is incredible and his vibrato is beautiful!
I was not prepared- but I am thankful nonetheless??
Really disappointed that like none of the actors are Jewish
The tiny one is my bestie
When your best friend is Jason
I've only come across Falsettos recently and I've gotta say, Rannells is incredible but this is charming. Nick's voice is absolutely beautiful and he plays Whizzer so well
AHHHHHH WHIZZERRRRR
I actually don't mind the tour cast
0:47 yo why the heck do i hear someone playing a recorder
I mean they are really good and I love this but no one will be as good as Andrew Rannells and Christian Borle
you can see the sadness in his eyes, that's so crazy to me!
I will always prefer the original cast vocally, but the revival staging is magnificent. (Sadly, I think the edict back in 1992 was "But Not _Too_ Gay!")
Nick has such a vulnerable and delicate way of singing as Whizzer. I don’t know anything about grading vocal performance, but what I feel is that Andrew’s version features Whizzer stressed and frustrated, while Nick’s is vulnerable and defeated.
every single Whizzer is just perfect and its kinda annoying? like why is EVERY person that plays Whizzer literally Perfect???????
0:10 ....... look at Cordelia’s hand........
SHUT. SHUT UP. NOPE. NO. ARE YOU KIDDING ME RN
???
You really can’t pick which whizzer you like more, andrews or nicks. Both are perfect so, that’s a thing. And also, they portray a new side and just chgdhgf
The only god I worship is nick Adams 🙏🙏🙏
at first, I have to be honest, I thought to myself why would they cast Nick as Whizzer, he still looks like Gaston and his aura is very dominating (a little bit scary too 🙈) not like what’s Whizzer’s supposed to be I guess. But listening to his version of this song, hands down this is why they cast him as Whizzer, he’s SO GOOD here 🥺🥰✨
I could not stop smiling when I watched this version!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Lmao I’ve seen the 2016 cast version so many times and at the lil dip at 0:52 I was expecting the “grr” thing that they do so I was not expecting Whizzer to go 😛but Im not complaining it was perf
Nick is perfection
STFU I LOVE THIS STOP HATING
But this is the worst version of the song
flat!!!!
whoever cast max von essen as marvin deserves a medal
Remember you don’t have to choose and compare Andrew and Nick they’re both amazing Whizzers Like Nick’s great, Andrew’s great, both casts are great, so please stop comparing casts, it’s annoying
I love both casts why do we have to compare them
You really can't compare the 2 casts, they're 2 very different approaches to the characters. While the characters might have been crying on stage in the tour, the revival cast was told specifically not to cry. James Lapine wanted the audience to do the crying. I think the main difference is that the revival cast does a lot more subtle acting, with a lot more spoken dialogue mixed into the songs and a lot of playing around with the rhythms of the music to make it feel more natural. I feel like the revival cast is speaking to each other a lot, rather than singing through a show. Every other production, including this one, feels a lot like the cast is just singing through the songs, emotion is still there but it doesn't feel as natural. And the final difference for me is that I feel like the revival cast is far more intimate than the tour cast. The tour cast is good, their individual characters are strong, but the relationships between the characters feel more well defined in the revival cast than they do in any other version. That's not the actors faults, it's James Lapine's ability to put together very cohesive groups of people. He understands how to cast a show, not just a character. As for this individual performance though, I just don't buy Nick Adams as Whizzer. He's super talented, and his voice is very strong, a lot of control, but it's a little too much vibratto. I feel like he is very classically trained, and Andrew has a very straight toned approach that allows the lyrics to show a bit better and that personally makes a big difference to me. Plus Andrew has the most unique take on the character, making Whizzer more playful and less uptight. It makes the character more likable to me, but that's a personal preference.
First time watching this was rough... But once you accept that not every version is Brandon's, then this one is pretty good. But it's definitely a drastically different approach to the character. And still way better than the off-West End guy (sorry not sorry, that guy sucks)
Unpopular opinion: this is better than the revival. They’re much more playful and have a bit more chemistry
0:47 that little squeak has me SCREAMING
I think I finally figured out what irritates me about this version. Whenever Nick talk-sings, he goes very flat which makes it very difficult to listen to and actually appreciate the humor or his voice
When I watched this for the first time, I was like "yikes, this is awful, te original is sooo much better", but then I watched the original again and this one for the second time and I have to say: It's not that bad at all. It has his own taste and likable things in it. The only thing I didn't like in comparison with the original, is the ending of this version. It just seemed a bit... off
When was anybody gonna tell me there's another run of Falsettos
