Thanks a lot, means so much to me ❤ These were all shot in natural light. It was a beautiful summer day in August so we have plenty of light. We shot this between 3-6pm and just use gold reflectors in some cases. I hope this helps

thanks for the lovely video love the blooper. Earlier I came to IG live I asked a question regarding photographing clutch bags or any smaller size bag how to get the exact size also getting it ready for amazon in post. If I maintain the size of smaller bag from a distance, it looks exactly same in size but loose the bag logo that is embossed texture and If I zoom that image in post for square or vertical the quality drops if I go closer the bag (vegan leather )is fully detailed but looses its shape to a bloated bag. I am using 5Dmarkiii canon L 100mm it is a 21MP. my client if the bag is of not the exact same size buyers return the product. even in this video at 1:03 the product is small but the end product became big in size 10:29 imagine if 10:29 is that clutch with closer detail if that image is posted as square before zooming magnifying the photo in amazon it will be different then size plus hovering the cursor over them image will make it even bigger what is the solution to show the exact size of a product Canon L 100mm macro
So for this shoot I’m using a 85mm lens which is why the distance between the subject and my lens is relatively close. What lens are you using?

Regarding the size of the bag, there is no way to have the "exact" real size in a photo (especially a digital photo posted online), because photos get cropped, magnified, resized dynamically by nature of the medium (the web), let alone it will be different size in a phone screen and a desktop screen, for instance. The solution is to use everyday props in your composition (a wine glass, a pen or pencil, a flower, jewels, you get the idea) so that the viewer's brain perceives the actual size of your subject by subconsciously comparing it to the size of the props, that they already know. As for losing detail from a distance, maybe you could try lighting your subject with a relatively hard (not very diffused) light from an angle that is pretty much to the side of your subject, that will help create shadows within the logo and the leather texture, helping to create visible detail. Alternatively, you can get closer to the subject and then - in post process - correct the bloat with a "lens correction" or "barrel distortion" or similar module in your editing software.
@@transparent_room I absolutely love the tip and I am familiar with using extra prop to change human mind as the live size example a model holding a clutch bag shows size but on amazon strict rule is that only the product is allowed to display on a white photo. rest of the slide photos can have extra props but the first image has to be just the object.
