    Thanks for posting this video. I've got a 2014 V7 racer with the Agostini slip ons (which appears to be what you installed on this bike) and have only used it with the baffles in. I might buy some snap ring pliers and pull out the baffles and try it without. I have a feeling I'll get Harley dudes giving me dirty looks for being too loud, but it might be fun and I can always put them back in

    Stock Guzzi exhausts, whether La Franconis or especially this beautiful ($2,000) Arrow exhaust, sound pretty great as-is. Far from quiet, even my stock 2013 V7 Stone with La Franconis has a nice low burble. Quite frankly, this mod sounds terrible and destroyed a $2,000 exhaust system. The Italians know how to make a bike, even a slow one, sound great. I can't even imagine the God-awful droning racket this thing will make on the highway as you're riding it. Ear plugs mandatory. This is the kind of meatball-surgery I did in my garage when I was 15.

    • @ooievaar6756
      @ooievaar6756 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, also lower pipes are handier with panniers and pillions to not burn their legs. Since there is 0.0002% mud in Europe it has no sense to have a high pipe. Like the jeeps with bull bars who ride everywhere exept in Australia itself. They ride small japanese. (budget friendlier, and smaller in width) handy on curved roads because of water which runs off.

      I agree, I purchased a Stornello due to a great opportunity, I really like it, it is fun to ride, however it has been modify as described in the video and it is way too loud for me, the ear plugs are mandatory, now I'm looking to put back the original part wich has been cut off.

    Thank you for making this video. I am curious if there is a drone sound when at steady speed such as 50 or 60 mph. I’ve heard people complain that when they made their exhaust pipe so that it made the motorcycle sound like a motorcycle that at cruising speeds it could be annoying or too loud. Did you find this to be the case?

    • @stephanh.6610
      @stephanh.6610 2 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @plimoth
    @plimoth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have found that this modification kills your torque curve. I suggest gutting out the CAT "Y" pipe and leaving the baffle and muffler as-is. After the CAT material is removed from the "Y" connector pipe you'll get a much better sound than stock that isn't obnoxious. (Better performance too.)

    • @RafaelGonzalez-bw1wb
      @RafaelGonzalez-bw1wb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      really? I had planned to make the same modification, could you give me more details? Thank you Donald

    • @plimoth
      @plimoth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RafaelGonzalez-bw1wb remove catalytic material from Y pipe. You will also need to remap the ECU. Guzzi tech sells the tool. $500. Before doing anything I strongly suggest changing the stock spark plug and boots To NGK. This made a huge difference, much more power. Contact Hamlin cycle in Connecticut for parts. If you need part numbers let me know.

      @@plimoth , that can be said about most scrambler style bikes. Harleys were do it all bikes for the first 50 years of their existence. Almost any bike can go off-road.
