I took the wife to FOS on the Sunday, likes her cars but had never been to a proper event on this scale. The paddock with the noise & proximity was her favourite bit. I'm guessing you were friday, I was at a wedding in the rain at the church behind the FOS back gate. Rotten day

Another incident for Goodwood that has relied on luck. If Goodwood concentrated a little more on modern standards of safety across the board instead of licking celebrity arses, this fire would've been extinguished within 20 seconds. C'mon, Goodwood and March, take this safety by the scruff of the neck and sort it out. I'd hate to see it take that long to put a fire out on an upturned car with the driver unconscious inside.

Clearly no fire fighting training has been given to the marshals.

A fuel system that has clearly just been running at full pressure is very difficult to extinguish when ruptured. It just keeps adding fuel to the fire or hot surfaces as it depressurises and for quite some time. I've personally seen a car reduced to alot less due to a ruptured mocal fuel line even after discharging a large fire extinguisher. If the fire extinguisher discharges quicker than the fuel pressure subsides you have little hope of success. They did well IMHO.

Place should be closed.Crap health and safety in place.The fire should only have lasted 15 seconds .Around these areas should be fire fighting teams with more than a screwfix fire extinguisher .dominating the fire did not happen

if we look closelly we can see the car leaking fluids leaving a line of somthing on the floor when it was going to the parking.

They need to get a few younger marshals out there. That one old codger could barely even hop out the way let alone do any good. That aside, this was an expensive day out for one Lexus owner....
