Naw the ruleset is wack. However the way it was taught was cool. Seeing guys throw flying kicks casually is cool. But trust me this ruleset is trash and needs to stay dead and buried

No... His killer instinct was gone. he had several moments to finish the fight and wasn't able to even approach doing it.. That said, this was a GREAT win against a very good fighter. I think more than anything, this style of fighter suited Lewis. Lewis had problems keeping up against pressure fighters late in his carrier, but this guy was more mid range, moderate aggressive, and Lewis experience prevailed.

@@daweilee1986 No, he backed off when he got him hurt. He either didn't have the stamina or instinct. Either way, he was a shell of his former self. Technique maturing doesn't make you a better fighter, and his technique was always good.

Full Contact rules doesn't have low kicks. Low kicks are boring as fuck, that's all they do all fight long.

There's No kicks at all in boxing and it attracts way more viewers than boring Thai fights or MMA 🤷‍♂️ THOSE are FACTS. Btw people like Benny Urquidez and Don Wilson raped some of your vaunted low kick kickboxers and Thai champs without having trained for low kicks which is more humiliating than a low kick champ beating a complete novice lol. None of the low kick guys ever dared to go fight them in Full Contact rules, of course they had an easy time fighting people who never fought a round under those rules lol I wouldn't brag about fighting newbies in my sport when I'm a veteran but I guess that's all thai boxers had. They became irrelevant when MMA came 🤭

​@@Avenging_Archer I love Benny The Jet and Joe Lewis. both influential guys have had a respectful association with Bruce Lee's JKD. however, let's not forget that Benny did struggle a bit the first time. Yea, that was a nice spinning back kick on his first opponent, but his second opponent really gave him a hard time. Bruce Lee been talking about leg kicks since the 60s and no one listened. Imagine if Benny The Jet at least was doing low sidekicks to these thaiboxers, there would have been more of a challenge posed to these thaiboxers. They're not indestructible. I've sparred many muay thai guys. in any case, low kicks have a place, and are effective. Do they get boring when that's *ALL THEY DO* ? i wholeheartedly agree. but let's not forget that removing lowkicks at all from competition is like removing another layer of realism to actual combat fighting. i agree though, when all they be throwin is lowkicks, it gets boring fast. thai boxers literally only have a teep (front) and the roundhouse kick. no variety. gets boring quickly for me. but they work hard at those 2 kicks and get very far with it. still, i would rather have at least 5 kicks in my arsenal and work hard at those to create more variety and different openings.

@@Avenging_Archer Lee fought, but just not on TV. Bruce trained Joe and was he was trained by Grand Master Jhoon Rhee who taught him Tae Kwon Do kicks. Also, Joe was USMC so that is what they saw, not cocky, just confidence.

Her true opponent pulled out from the fight. Lisa is Kathy's student and friend and stepped in to provide an exhibition bout. Lisa was below Kathy's weight division.

@@Avenging_Archer I got that her opponent pulled out from the video. I understand that Kathy was pulling her strikes. However the skill difference was so evident that this was a punching bag workout. That's all I said. Too bad they didn't have anyone closer to her level.

From what I read,Joe's films did marginally well but I think he didn't have the artistic direction & control of the films he wanted to do.i read also Joe wasnt one to take direction well but he admitted the biggest mistake film wise is when he turned down the role of Colt,in Return of the Dragon with Bruce Lee,which Chuck Norris being cast instead.but in my opinion,Joe was a great film star too,being boyishly handsome,granite build,extreme presence& talented.R.I.P J ok e Lewis.

I know just what he told us in his seminar. He lifted a lot of weights over many years, and he concentrated a lot on his back muscles. He attributed his great punching power to the development of those muscles. Almost forgot, he liked pull ups, especially with "A FRAME"angled grip. I do not remember much discussion of cardio but he had a lot of footwork drills and said mobility was the greatest weakness he saw in black belts at his training sessions.

Joe had. a tremendous ability to dissect an opponent, and his speed( the sidekick), was too powerful for most if his opponents.It was stated, however , after he started training with Bruce, he was practiclly unbeatable.

I know right? His life story is epic enough on his own that he needs no Hollywood editing to make him badass. Truly a legend.

Fun Fact: he's the inspiration for Ken in the Streetfighter games.

Clearly a big shame, because guys like this and Chuck Norris et cetera, deserrve respect more than Bruce Lee, who never took the risks with his art form that they did.. Bruce Lee was just an actor, and doesn't deserve the recognittion he gets

Absolute. Joe Lewis is considered a legend among many other things because he was the first western martial artist to lace up some gloves and put his martial arts cross training to the full-contact test. As far as I'm concerned he's the father or at least grandfather of modern MMA.
