Awakening the Catholic Imaginative Vision
Remembering Who We Are
Once upon a time, a young prince is challenged by his father to go off into the world to prepare for his coronation: "You will undergo many hardships, and the hardest of all will be to remember your true identity in the midst of a people who know nothing of our kingdom."
Christians are challenged with a simple question: "Can it be that you have entirely forgotten who you are?"

The Origins of Catholic Education
มุมมอง 4.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
We think of ourselves as living in a highly educated time, but there's a sense in which we actually do very little education. On the surface, this claim seems ridiculous: schools and universities fill the world, and the modern world can boast of impressive scientific understanding and scientific advancement. It helps to turn to the distinction between education and training. While training refe...

Amidst the boredom and malaise of our modern culture, have no fear: you were born for ...
Traditionalist, Progressive: Sorting Out the Catholic Tradition
มุมมอง 3.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
During the past decades, Catholic life has been dominated by questions of tradition. What is it? How important is it? What is its role in the life of faith? These questions don't just occupy the minds of academic theologians, but have found their way into books and podcasts, blogs and dinner conversations. Individuals and entire communities have increasingly defined themselves based on their un...

Dating and Courtship with Sarah Swafford

This should, in all charity, be taken down. Fr. Michael Scanlan has been accused of SA in 1978 of a 9 year old. He was also a member of a community shut down by the church in the 1990’s after it was found to be a cult. Please have some thoughts for the victims.
May the love of Jesus Christ dwell in our hearts, obedience to true love, the love of Jesus Christ, obedience until death, until restfully in the heart of Jesus Christ ❤️🔥

I like the part... " Those proclaming did not meet Him, reading the Word of the God like scripts"
12 apostles!! Matthias helped too :)
You're right, Matthias helped, too! (We made the decision to show 11 Apostles to signify the moment of the Great Commission, shortly before Matthias was chosen.)
No wonder that people are not educated.
Public schools are being drained to fund catholic schools!
Why are you taking government funding from public schools? You've the richest church.
It was fantastic sister l love it please pray for me too l want to become a sister like you l love you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏻
Just found this - thank you so much!
Thanks for the grace of this beautiful explanation of salvation history. It should be witnessed by all!
I agree. I cannot believe that this podcast has not attracted the following the the Bible in a Year podcast got. I hope we can spread the news of its existence far and wide. This too good not to share. It is a pearl of great price!
This is so profound and beautiful. It confirms the enlightenment that I have been receiving on my spiritual journey. These episodes should be experienced by everyone and I pray that they will be viewed widely.
Great short video...simple yet powerful...only American bishops need to purge the American Catholic Church of its great sinfulness hiding the sexual assault scandal and keeping American cardinals in office who engaging in homosexual relations with seminarians...that fundamental step has to happen first.
After what happened in the 20th century we need Apostolic Mode now more than ever.
once upon a time, scientism was called empiricism
It's so difficult to know exactly when to "choose" who to surround yourself with ("good people") when I also have to be careful not to "escape" from the environment God has placed me in. Also "putting your utmost confidence in Jesus" can sometimes seem so esoteric, because what if I put my trust in him and it turns out I should have planned better or used my "common sense" to choose to do something? Sorry, maybe I'm just not getting it right. Would appreciate prayers for clarity. What exactly is the balance between "total dependency" and doing the work?
This series is one of the most outstanding initiatives on evangelization that I have found in the Internet. Thank you very much.

Jesus say "meet me half way. Then I will show you the other"
This was brilliant. You deserve a much larger audience. Thank you for the work you are doing.
Appreciate the discussion but find it in error to refer to “the heart” of the evil one. He has no heart.
I love them both! Fun conversation
Too much interruption around us is how satan has tried to hide the truth from us. Hollywood, business, money, and hardship through our ethics of work, losing respect for our own dignity, which has made us slaves of our own ignorance about what is truly important in our lives. Invading and corrupting the church representatives as well in the many ways that we have sadly seen. We need to regain the ground we lost with Jesus's and Our Queen's help. Thank you keep going as you uncover Jesus's enlightenment. God is amazingly powerful.
Beautiful discussion❤
Thank you. Paideia was still the guiding ideal in Catholic and other schools of His ghet education when I was in grad school in the early 1960s. But then the technocrats took over; we got bogged down in one pointless war after another, we lost our idealism, our sense of purpose, our sense of decency and our moral compass. « imIf ot feels foot, do it » became the cry of the 60s social revolution, and ce skidded downhill every since. Now we kill inconvenient babies, put old and sick fool out of their misery, let criminals back on the street to commit crime again, don’t back up our law enforcement people, don’t really care for our sick as human persons, just statistics, font honor our soldiers’ sacrifices nor the sacrifices their families make. We are a give me, give me culture. We have forgotten John F. Kennedy ‘s advice: « Don’t ash what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. If ou are under 75 you probably don’t know what I’m saying. You have been deprived of the benefits of living in one o the few truly great countries in history. I pray that your curiosity is pricked and you work to bring the US A back to its greatness.
This is an outstanding, lucid articulation of reality. The sad thing is, the Catholic Episcopacy is to blame from within for the cultural shift that was was Christendom. The Episcopacy has promoted a flawed notion of “Social Justice” that isn’t even Catholic. They have fostered, encouraged, and educated the most anti-Catholic powerful people who are now excluding the very Church from the society. Bishops like McElroy, Tobin, Cupich, Bernadin, Wuerl, McCarrick, and Gregory are to blame for this disaster.
I know these videos don’t get a lot of views, but they are really, really good! Keep making them. One day lots of people will watch and use them in evangelization!
"We're so little..." Perfect. I love this.
God bless the work of Acts XXIX I hope the team comes to New Zealand!
One Holy Apostolic and Catholic Church Amen
Sad how true education is dying. Secularist bureaucracy just want to stomp out holistic education which Christians promote and now the education system is at its worst due to Industrial age values.
I’ve followed Fr John since 2017 and love his presentation of the Kerygma. We had a book read of Rescued June 2021 and then this past January ran the Rescue Project. They were powerful studies that helped us grow closer to Jesus. We hope to run the RP twice a year as part of a discipleship path. Great conversation.
So what are some of those perennial truths to be held onto? Seems like both trads and progressivists cannot agree on that. Amoris Letitia comes to mind.
Sometimes I look at a little figure of Christ I have at home, I ask Him "what am I doing wrong that doesn't allow you to get closer to me?" and the feeling of blame pierces my heart because I know it's my fault, not His. It consumes me. I know He itches to fill me up with His love, but I'm a sinful, stone-hearted idiot that doesn't know how to let Him work on me. My sweet Jesus, forgive me. Let me know what can I do to be one with you.
Are John and this lady married? Is John going back to Our Lady of Good Counsel?
He’s a priest. He’s celibate.
Wish our priests would wear their cassocks on such shows! It is such a powerful visual symbol of priesthood. Then young viewers won't mistake them for protestant pastors 😊
She’s married to someone else.
Brilliant teacher indeed! Truly anointed by Holy Spirit. Thank you all so much. A fabulous sharing. St Joan of Arc pray for us.
I am not catholic, but I’m addicted to hearing sister Mariam ❤️ she’s speaking to my soul
You're a beautiful soul for being open to the wonderful possibilities she speaks of.
I was raised Catholic. In my desire to deepen my faith, I went to a Baptist church and have since come back to the Catholic Church. But when I was young, they did CCD. You got the basics so you could receive communion and also the sacrament of confirmation. The religious education was extremely lacking and you just did it because you were Catholic. At 60 years old, investigating on my own I have learned so much. Children don’t learn to do things because you just say “I said so“. You need to know what you’re talking about and walk the walk. I don’t know what it’s like now, my kids are in the 30s, but it was no different when they went to CCD. If you want people to come back to the church, you need to give them some information and teach them. This Nun is amazing!!
