For us old people, what is a "meme"?

What science "starts with there is no God"? Never seen that in any scientific textbook or paper. This is a strawman argument. I thought baring false witness was supposed to be a sin? Why are you claiming something that you know is plain untrue. There are many very religious scientists, that see no contradiction between an act of faith and a quest for understanding of the physical laws that rule the Universe using observation and measurement. The problem with religion in politics is which religion should be imposed on the citizens? The constitution bans the establishment of any religion. Would you be happy if Roman Catholicism, Islamic, Hinduist, Atheist, or Buddhist laws were imposed upon you or your family. The way things stand you are free to practice or not practice any religion you want. Do you want to change the Constitution? What facts in the bible should they be looking at? I know of none. Fear mongering? Really. Please explain why the threat of hell is not fear mongering. Revalations is not fear mongering? Immorality is due to people not voting right? Who determines what is right? There has been immorality since humans walked the Earth. Name a "moral" era and I will list the immorality of that time. Slavery was widespread in the US until 150 years ago. It still happens in some areas now days. When did pedophilia start? When did prostitution start? When did murder start? When did thievery start? All before anyone voted for anything. Some are currently trying to limit people's right to vote - that is immoral - let me hear you denounce that. Global warming is real - you can observe it without looking at a single thermometer. PS there never was a scientific consensus in the 1970's that there was about to be an ice age. It's an urban legend. Another example of false witness. The devil seems to be controlling your tongues. Suggest you do some fact checking before opening your mouths.

It seems to me there are 2 distinct possibilities. Either there is no god and these myths are exactly that myths. 👇👇👇 Or you have a god that's claimed wishes to have a relationship with his creation. He wants us to live our lives in a certain way with regard to morals , worshipers ect. This god think that the best way to convey this vital message to us is via a book of scriptures. This book he knows will reach me as copies of translations of copies of translations of an original oral tradition. And to all intensive purposes will appear to be the myths and beliefs of ignorant superstitious primative tribesmen, just like all the thousands of others. This book will contain testimonies that are unsigned, for the most part hearsay and written by we dont know who. It will contains talking snakes and talking donkeys giants witches magic and zombies. It will appear to some to have questionable ethics with regard to endorsement of slavery infanticide genocide ect. This book will also disagree with science on many different subjects like origins and age of the earth , how the diversity of life came about basic cosmology ect ect. The hero of this book will appear to be very similar to all the other proposed demigods born of virgins from earlier pagan deities, and will be serving a very specific purpose vicarious redemption ( or scapegoating) a practice that apears to be an imoral concept in itself .And a form of which , was already being practiced in the area. Anyway god seemingly thinks that the best way for him to be able to forgive man, for breaking rules that god knew in advance that they would break when he made those rules. Is to send a version of himself down to earth then sacrifice himself to himself. Thus preventing his need to punish his creations for something their ancestors did before they knew the difference between right and wrong. 🤔 ☝️☝️ I mean just actually think about that for a minute 🤔🤔🤔 Our hero and the stories about him though are not for everyone as this god is predominantly concerned about one particular tribe of people called jews and one little area of the Mediterranean. The aborigines, Asians ect dont seem to important. He has also created a place of eternal torture for people who are unconvinced by his book. Even though belief is not a choice as you are either convinced of something or unconvinced, and it is generaly evidence that convinces I personally could not just choose to believe in tinkerbell because that belief offers rewards , no matter how much I just closed my eyes and stamped my feet. And if I am unable to see through all of the above and conclude that jehovah is the explanation for reality as I see it , then I'm deservingly sent off to hell. *No offence my friend but regardless of whether such a god exists or not I'm being entirely rational and justified in my current position as an atheist*
