This is my channel for performing drum covers to songs I love to listen and play to, and from some of the bands I grew up with. Thanks for watching!
Get Ready by The Temptations, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
Get Ready is a Motown song written by Smokey Robinson and released in 1966 by The Temptations. Eddie Kendricks sang lead and the great Benny Benjamin was on drums, adding his unique style and tom accents.

South California Purples by Chicago, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
มุมมอง 2.4Kหลายเดือนก่อน
This song by Chicago was originally called Southern California Purples and released in 1969 (55 years ago!) on their debut album Chicago Transit Authority. A great rocker and the great Danny Seraphine on drums lays down solid beats, fills and accents. This song and album was a breakthrough in the style and sound. A classic!
Groovin Hard by Buddy Rich, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
มุมมอง 1.5K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Buddy Rich, the best drummer of all time! He was the reason i started to play drums at the age of 5. My father took me to see him at The Chandel Club in Oklahoma City, and from their I was hooked. This song, Groovin Hard, is one of my favorites, along with many others. No one like him. I loved it when a reporter asked him what he did to warm up? He said, "I take my hands out of my pocket"! Pure...
Jojo (Live) by Boz Scaggs, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
มุมมอง 2K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is my favorite version of the song JoJo. I'm not sure who the drummer was but I believe it was John Ferraro. It was recorded in 2003 and the album came out in 2004. A great groove that has a nice feel to it. The drums incorporate some open hats, floor tom accents and a few nice fills here and there. Big Boz Scaggs fan!
Ain't No Woman (Like The One I Got) by The Four Tops, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider, GS on Drums
มุมมอง 1.5K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a song that I've always liked. It has great lyrics, vocals and a nice groove to it. Released in 1973, it peaked at #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The drummer is Paul Humphrey, who also played with a who's who of musicians. His list of accomplishments is amazing.
Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider, GS on Drums
มุมมอง 8K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Whole Lotta Love is the first track on their second album Led Zeppelin II. It was released in 1969, and was their first big hit and certified gold. A great rock tune with John Bonham laying down a great beat with cool hat/bell patterns and fills. A fun song to play!
It Better End Soon #1,#4 by Chicago, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
มุมมอง 2K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
The "It Better End Soon" movements by Chicago were really the first of it's kind for a rock band, and came out on their second album Chicago II. Everything from the arrangements to the lyrics were outstanding. Danny Seraphine on drums was fantastic as usual and the band was really in a great stride. For this cover, I chose the 1st and 4th movements. Chicago II is my favorite Chicago album, alon...
Animal by Toto, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
มุมมอง 3K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
A great groove by the incredible Jeff Porcaro. David Paich adds some cool organ parts and Steve Lukather's guitar solo is top notch. A nice song that just has a fun groove to it. It was fun to learn this one!
That's The Way of the World "Live" by Earth Wind & Fire, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums.
มุมมอง 3.2K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
The studio recording of That's The Way of the World was released in June 1975 and featured Fred White on drums. I loved his playing. The live version from their Greatest Hits Live album was recorded in Tokyo, Japan and issued in 1996 featuring Sonny Emory on drums. He too was an awesome drummer and was so good at playing in the pocket and adding unique fills in the right spot. Earth Wind & Fire...
Poem For The People by Chicago, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
มุมมอง 1.8K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Poem For The People was released on Chicago II, their second and first double album. It was written by Robert Lamm and really showcases a lot of dynamics, tempos and various riffs and drum patterns. It's a great song that again has Danny Seraphine at his best. A fun song to learn.
Locomotive Breath by Jethro Tull, Drum Cover by Gary Schneider GS on Drums
มุมมอง 4.6K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
This song debuted in 1971 on the album Aqualung. It was written by Ian Anderson about the overpopulation of the world and capitalism at that time. Some say the lyrics of the song "Locomotive Breath" do not refer to overpopulation, but more about a man who is estranged from his children, whose wife is having an affair, and who is devoid of any type of knowledge or morals. Anyway, it's a great so...

Gary you play this just like the record. You sound so good I think Jeff Porcaro, and Boz Scaggs, would dig it. You have great timing and feel. You are very impressive sounding.
Wow, thanks! That’s very nice of you to say! And thanks for watching!
Fabulous job! Your sounds great I love the tight sound of your snare!
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it….and the snare!
Thank you very much for sharing your video. I‘m trying to learn this song. The fills are very tough for me. Your video is very helpful and inspiring. Thank you very much. Deep respect.
Glad it was helpful! On the fill’s practice 2 notes, then add a note, etc until you feel it.
Great job 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 working those drums 🪘

Brilliantl!
Thank you very much!
Brothers got soul good job Gary 👍✌️
Thanks, much appreciated!
Spot on
Thanks for watching!
Used to try and stick this on the dash of my '67 Cutlass when I was in high school. Left lots of divots on the pseudo padded plastic, which my father always gave me a hard time over. If I had only had a kit, the inspiration may have led me to the place where you are.... and excellent drummer! Thanks for the time machine.
Glad you enjoyed it! I use to play my sticks on a phone book- beat the crap out of it!
Super! And thank you! Our cover band is learning this song now and you've made it easy for me to see what I have to play!
Glad I could help!
THAT was a JOY to watch!!! 👍👍👍
Thank you for watching!
Completely mesmerising, always wanted to see the breakdown part , so clever
Thanks a lot! I appreciate it!
Awesome !!! new sub :)
Thanks!
Brilliant. And very helpful for a guy like me with half your talent to try and nail this bugger down for a band that I'm auditioning for. Thank you!
Good luck in the audition! I’m glad the video helps!
Love this song Gary! Nice! Listen to the background Wah undulations on guitar from the great, late Terry Kath. R.I.P.
Terry Kath was a fantastic guitarist. He and Seraphine made Chicago.
I just can’t believe how easy you make it seem, absolutely amazing
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
You're welcome!
excellent Gary!!!
Thank you very much!
Thank you for this great rendition of Roundabout, and as another user mentioned specially the bridge sounds very clean. The rhythm gets kind of confusing there with the use of milk bottles? by Bruford but you keep it going steady with the snare and the cymbal, real nice!
Thank you for your comment! I agree about the bridge.
excellent
Many many thanks
@@GarySchneiderGSonDrums I've been a drummer for 44 years and that was top notch!!!!
Very clean drumming. Really nice. .
Thank you! ✌️
Cyimbels came up, before you touched them !! ??? 😢😢😢😮😮😮
I played to the original track and not a drumless track, so it’s the original drummer’s cymbals you’re hearing.
Yes sir! Great tune and drumming as usual Gary. This is one of my favorite BS songs. Great performance man!
Thanks for listening! I have always been a big fan of Boz!
Nailed it.
Thank you! ✌️
soooooo nice man!!!! and this calm drumming make the cover perfect. totally effortless perfect performance
Thanks a lot and thanks for listening!
@GarySchneiderGSonDrums thanks to you for giving us the chance to listen to you!!!
Great friend, whats is your hi hat's?
They’re an older pair of 14” Avedis Zildjian hats. I love em!
I'm learning it at the moment, and YES, this is the closest version to Mitch on YT. 👌
Thank you and I’m sure you will nail it!
Nice 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks 👍
But drummers aren’t musicians …(3:38)…never mind 😂
Thanks…..and I agree!
I am trying to do what you are doing. I have started a project called the "Drums Only Project" recording drummers from Vancouver Canada. I ran a store called Drums Only and helped create the Ayotte Custom drum line.
That’s cool!
You make it look easier than most covers with drummers half your age. I loved this song in H.S. and to this very day, it rings deep in my soul. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, thank you! It does bring back memories!
that's it brother, keep on keeping on time ☝❤
Thanks! ✌️
You're welcome Brother
You're welcome I love playing to Chicago's music
