I used to play this game when I was younger! Fun game! :D

When I first played this game, and still do, I like to do all of the puzzles with the blanket chest last, including opening Meryl's pocket watch, because I like doing them last before the day is over. Whenever I open Meryl's pocket watch, I immediately open Frances's using the key chain I just obtained, just to show how similar and simultaneously different the watches are with what it takes to open them and their matching pictures...except for Meryl's portrait being torn out from Frances's watch...and then later we discover Dave has it because it was given to him by his great-aunt, who was Frances's cousin.

The first time I played this game, I remember thinking how it felt odd that Nancy does not specifically state a direct clue to opening the chest, even with the use of the cranks. It was after I used them on the trunk in Mary's store that I realized they served that other purpose to the chest. And due to the clock image appearing in the center of the three birds, I was able to figure out the solution to this puzzle on my own, and I was very excited when I was proven right!!! 😁😁😁

This is the first game that offers a task list where you can check off the tasks you complete, starting with getting the letter for Mary from the desk. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 "Check!" "That's done!" 😁😄😆

This puzzle makes me want to break my computer

The journal was a literal book of clues to find the diamond with the use of the medallions, and only Nancy was smart enough to figure it out!!! 😁😁😁

Marie's clues with the medallions undoubtedly prove that only a smart, curious person like Nancy would be the one to figure out how they would lead to the diamond. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Getting locked out was really scary for me the first time I played this, and then when I played other games later on, I realized that in most of them, there is a moment where Nancy is in a dangerous spot and has to work quickly to get out of it.

I do enjoy jigsaw puzzles in the games like this leaf one, but even to this day, I like to play it on Junior Detective mode to avoid spending more time turning ALL the pieces and making them fit before it will open. 😉

When I first played the game on Senior Detective, I immediately recognized that it contained an extra puzzle piece, and that's when I realized that puzzles are the only way these games differ between Junior and Senior modes. Slider puzzles like this one are among those that I do enjoy playing in these games. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I noticed the first time that when you go into Ezra's private garden, it features the same music played when you first uncover his secret study in the library. And then the little victory music piece played when you pick up the medallion is just awesome! 😁😁😁

There is something to see on all parts of the wall in the shed: the key, the solution to the ski lift, and the article about Dexter!

I've gotten used to this one, but I dislike other puzzles like this one in the other games because the solutions are always random each time you play. My least favorite is the number puzzle to open the electrified gate to the basement in The Final Scene.

When I first played TRT as a kid, I hit a standstill in the middle of it, even though I had done everything needed to be done at that point, including learning the library alarm code, and all because I had overlooked one step: calling the elevator to the first floor so that it would be out of the way when I went into the elevator shaft by going through the library doors. When I finally figured out what I had missed, I was elated, and then I was able to proceed through the rest of the game with no trouble. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I was confused by the use of the camcorder and battery at first, since I didn't know how long the battery needed to be charged to finish the video. Of course, even though you charge it, if you look closely at the rest of the video, the battery is at the same place it was before...meaning it doesn't charge 100%. I was also annoyed that it cuts off before you hear all of what Hotchkiss discovered...but I guess that's done because the game wants the player to find out for themselves. 😉

Hey Calina, did you notice that this was the first game to show the Sassy Detective magazine? I think it's only featured again in The Phantom of Venice, but there are plenty of references to it between the two games, starting with the awards for The Haunted Carousel and Nancy receiving emails from it! 😁 I guess that magazine is the one of the keys to her success as a detective, even as an amateur! 👍🏻 Nancy thinks like a true police detective when she uses the brush and dust to uncover Dexter's fingerprints on the alarm and learn the library's code! 👏🏻

I bought STFD from Her, digital download. Have tried every trick on the internet to install this game, keep getting the path to ini or something as an error and it will not play the game.

Never played “Shivers”, but you could look into playing Frankenstein: Through the eyes of the monster. It had an amazing actor playing the doctor. I won’t spoil it for you if you never played, but he lends very well to playing a horror character.

On the slide show at the beginning the slide for the paint-by-number, the "T" is missing in the word paint!
