Inshore Kayak Fishing the Docks of Charleston for whatever bites
Today I’m kayak fishing docks in Charleston, South Carolina fishing for a variety of species, including redfish, speckled trout, and flounder. In this video, I catch some fish, miss some others, and find a large group of fish that I didn’t expect at all. But at the end of the day, it was a gorgeous day on the water and it’s always a joy getting to fish the South Carolina low country.

South Carolina Inshore Slam for one of the BEST multi-species saltwater fishing days I’ve had
มุมมอง 72914 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today we’re back in the marshes of South Carolina doing some inshore fishing. In today’s video, we end up getting an inshore slam (catching a redfish, speckled trout, and flounder) after a slow start to the day. Despite the fact that this day was rainy, windy, and overall just not great weather, I ended up having one of my best multi-species fishing days in Charleston that I’ve had. Thanks for ...
Saltwater Fishing Tips I had to learn the HARD way (to help YOU catch more fish)
มุมมอง 24228 วันที่ผ่านมา
A year ago, I started saltwater fishing in Charleston, South Carolina, and at first, I had a lot of struggles. But despite that, with some trial and error, and the help of others, I finally started having some success. Talking to different people, a lot of other anglers shared my struggles when they first started, so that’s why I decided to make this video. In this video, I go over everything I...

South Carolina Flood Tide Fishing for Redfish
มุมมอง 4.8K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Today we’re down in the South Carolina low country fishing the flood tide for some tailing redfish. Flood tides, also known as king tides, are extreme high tides that only happen during certain parts of the year anf they allow you to get up into and pull through the tall grass. Though it was a hot day, I was still able to get a nice fish and make it a successful inshore fishing trip. Thanks for...

Great video, have you fished Kiawah Island in Charleston before?
Thank you! I haven’t ever fished it, is it good?
@@augshogs Very good, highly recommend it, there's so many saltwater ponds and marshes with tons of aggressive redfish
Such a wild looking fish
Yah flounder do look pretty wack lol
Does that mean that dock fishing is better than kayak fishing? Lol
Nahhh lol… but if you combine the two, it’s unbeatable
Fluke.
Yessir
Southern flounder
Yessir
Keep up the pokemon theme i love it and its literally what i think sometimes fishing. Gotta catch em all
Gotta catch em all… couldn’t have said it better myself😂
Cool video. I am on vacation from California, visiting Charleston, Hilton Head, and Savanna. I was wondering how the fishing was in all these beautiful marshes and estuaries I have been seeing. Next time I come out here I want to do some fishing.
I’d definently recommend it! There’s a ton of great areas to fish, especially in the Charleston area. Lots of great charter guides here as well
@@augshogs this whole area looks like a sportsman’s paradise.
Halibut
Flounder… halibut would be sick though
Flounder
Southern Flounder yessir
lol the Pokémon theme really sells it.
Haha gotta add it for the Fishydex
Hey seen you drop in this pass weekend didn't know you had a channel. I was with my buddy on the hobie kayaks
Oh nice! Did y’all have any luck this weekend?
I want to see the fish. Not the size 28 font the entire time 🙄
Solid point, will shrink the font going forward
@@augshogs hope that helps.
What lure & jig size?
3” zman paddle tail on a 1/8 oz jig head
@@augshogs thank you
Great day on the water! I love the mood change when you started getting on fish. I know exactly how you were feeling lol this past summer i went on a fish drought for a couple weeks and it sucks, but makes the good days so much better. Keep it up and tight lines dude.
Absolutely, you gotta have the bad days to have the good ones, and I think this fishing trip encapsulated that perfectly. Tight lines brother, happy you liked it!
Sexc drone shots sir❤
Thank you Mr Jish, appreciate it sir!
Tight lines! Im thinking about hitting the Wando next weekend if weather permits.
This weekend looks gorgeous and there’s some great tide swings, I’d say get out there if you can!
I'll be by Sullivans this weekend@@augshogs
Heck yah, I think I’ll be ripping some creeks by DI
I’ve caught big cats reds sharks stingrays even but no bass
You’ve caught all those but never a bass? That’s crazy
You should try to catch a shark ❤❤
I have, but I’ll keep trying!
Just moved here from Wisconsin and trying to get the fishing down. Got any tips or spots to try out?
As a Wisconsinite that moved here a year ago, it’s a big learning curve going from freshwater to saltwater fishing. I just posted a video on my page going over everything I learned the past year, so I’d check that out. Also I learned a lot by just watching other TH-camrs in the area and talking to people to get tips. But if you need help/spots, feel free to reach out on IG and I’ll try and help
This is good fishing right here ! Just a yak and combo and catching fish !
That’s all you need to have a great day on the water!
Bro this spot looks sick is it public access? Can you drop the coordinates
Yessir, it’s Sullivans Island. Really solid spot, really solid access as well
Thanks for making the vid..i will e checking out this pier!
Of course, good luck!
Studs
Thank you sir
Non stop actoin! What’s a banger of a video!!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you brother, was an absolute blast of a fishing trip!
Good video bro
Thank you! Really appreciate it
I was there in july, i got a 3 or 4 pound bass, easily my pb
That’s sick! Yah I honestly think that’s one of the best bass lakes you can find!
@@augshogs For sure! Probably because its only catch and release so unless somthing eats them, they are just gonna get bigger
Yes completely agree!
Thank goodness theres no Crocodiles in there hahah
Haha yah I think I’m safe😂
Hey what’s up bud, I live in Charleston too. Where did you put in at?
This video I put in my Sullivans. There’s a few good kayak launches over there
Where can I buy live shrimp for bait I'm staying in the cherry grove area
Head over to Hadderalls Bait and Tackle, that’s the best bait shop in the area
Not really a giant as far as red fish go but nice work!
That’s true, but definently put up an excellent fight on the kayak!
@@augshogs headed to Kiawah island next week for some crazy surf fishing. Tons of sharks this year. So many that catching big bull red fish wind up chopped in half before landing them. Keep on fishing bro ✊😎
Really… might have to give that a try tomorrow, sounds like I’d be a fun trip
Ur channel is soooo underrated
Thanks brother really appreciate it!
I gotta make time too fish ..
This is a sign, you never have a bad time out on the water
@@augshogs You right my brother...
Those are great eating drum!!
Are black drum good? I’ve never tried eating them before
@@augshogs yes! Just throw on some breading air fry and boom fish sandwich (with tarter sauce of course)
@@augshogs The smaller ones yes are really good, if you catch a large one no. The larger ones are 30+ years old and are usually full of worms.
The mighty Tucunaré!! Well done!
Is that another name for a peacock bass?
Dude! I live in goose creek just got a kayak last week myself. I would love to do some inshore fishing like you do in the marshes. I don’t want to know any of your spots but where are good areas to put a kayak in the salt marsh.
That’s so sick, congrats, having a kayak makes the fishing so much more fun! Some spots I’d recommend to launch are either Shem creek at the boat launch or look on google map to find the two launches on the back side of Sullivans island
@@augshogs thanks for the info kind sir! I love the videos keep them coming. One of my favorite fishing channels by far. Yeah I definitely agree it ups the fishing game by far. I just need to find a better padded seat for mine after about a hour I have to get up.
Thank you I really appreciate that! Hopefully you’ve been able to get out there and have some success!
Just seen 🎉🎉Just subscribed
Thank you, really appreciate it!
Nice video..new subscriber
Appreciate it sir👊
South carolina people, we are carolinians, south carolinians!🙂
Lol well I was close atleast
Hey! Live on John’s island! I’ve lived on the water and have gone out on the Kayak multiple times! I know you probably do know, just make sure you got enough time for the tides! Otherwise you’ll be walking back!
Oh I know, got stranded for a nice 45 minutes one time… not making that mistake again😂
there is no shot theres arowana in north carolina wat was that even doing on screen
It’s not just North Carolina species😂
so how do you know when a flood tide is coming? can they be predicted weeks in advance?
What I do is normally I look up the tides in my area, and then if you look at a monthly view, find the tides that are about .5 to 1 ft larger than normal (normally in Charleston anything above 6 ft will be decent). These are predicted well in advance, so normally you know the time and max height going into it.
What river/creek is this at?
Idk if it has a name, but it’s by Sullivan’s Island
I'm in Florida I'm going to, fort Lauderdale. Can you stay there so we can meet
Unfortunately I don’t live in Florida, was just visiting
Is this Pitt st bridge?
Yup
Chat I’m the thousandth like
Congrats Mint, you’re a reel one for that one👊
Any good spots in Berkeley County?
Honestly I fish a lot more in Charleston county and inshore, so I couldn’t really give you any tbh
im new to the area. any kayak launches for a beginner? never fished saltwater before.
There’s a few by Sullivans Island that you can see if you look at google maps. I’d start with those and fish the creeks and docks nearby, maybe throw an assortment of cut bait, shrimp, and artificial.
@@augshogs awesome ill check em out. thanks man
