    You would only purchase a Leaf over a M3/MY if you could get it much cheaper. It's not a road trip car because of the lack of active battery cooling. That said for the right price, the Leaf is a good around town car.

    Hi Paul. Very informativ I drive a NISAN Liev now 8 Years. I am very happy with it. My daily commutes is 60km. For charging i use destination charcher Type 2 22kW charcher AC The has there a one pase charging of 7.5kW per hour. Like that have a work day gives me from 50% to 90% charge every 3 day. So it like you sad, i arrive at work and for my lunch break the car is reddy. I will never drive a ICE car again. My last trip was 400km for a price of 45CFR 0.3SFr/kWh. About the 80% the first generation of LEAV had the poebility the Leave e+ not. The only sad part is. That CaDeMo is being taken out on our Freeways.

    It's funny this guy is complaining about the budget EV not having luxury car features like the ability to program a garage door opener into your rear view mirror and push the button when you get home on a budget. EV then he's telling us he bought it cuz it is a budget EV but yet the oldest vehicle in his fleet at the time of filming this is possibly 4 years old and he owns three vehicles that he purchased all of as a brand new vehicles.

    I have a 2017 leaf, and it is great for around town. Doesn't even come close to a Model 3 which you can get for pretty cheap now if you get a RWD that is a couple of years old. If my leaf was worth anything for a trade in, I would have switched already. Sadly, the trade in value of it is dismal. It's still a really comfortable car, so keeping my Leaf isn't going to bother me too much.

    We had a 2013 Leaf for 5 years then upgraded to a 2022. The most fun car we have owned. Now that I'm older, I love the lane change assist. I don't have to crank my neck around every time to look at the blind spots. We do have an old ICE car (2007 Avalon) we use a few times a year for long freeway trips. It is a big freeway cruiser that has a soft ride. The combination of the two cars works great. It doesn't have to be black or white, electric or gas.

    We have two Leafs, a Gen 2 that we bought new, and a Gen 1 we bought from the estate of a neighbor down the road. There is a big difference between the way the two handle and the range anxiety for the Gen 1. We also have a Tesla M3 we also got second hand by I guy I work with who really wanted a Polestar 2. The Tesla is good for road trips and car pooling. The Gen 2 Leaf is the best all rounder as it has more room, and rides better IMHO. The Leaf Gen 1 only had 18,000 miles on it and runs like it is new.

    We just bought a '22 Leaf for our daughter in college, used with 11K miles but it is spotless, like new. For driving around town which is all my daughter does, it's perfect, and it has a sporty appearance and handling, so she's quite happy. Plus I like taking it out for errands early in the morning while she's still asleep😆, and I've probably saved a tank of gas from my minivan over the past couple of months. Unfortunately it is the lowest trim, missing the goodies like 360 video, heated steering wheel and a couple of other options. Also it has the smaller battery, charges to 180 miles (realistically about 170). But it was $13,600 out of the dealer lot; the dealer handled the EV incentives so all we had to do was fill out a form. Too good a deal to pass up, really. Overall, it's a great little car; I'm wanting one for myself. Also, we have solar panels, so probably our power cost is lower than yours. We have to slow-charge from the 110V outlet in the garage. It's an older house and the electrician would charge like $5K to add a panel to handle 220V outlet to the garage, but he can charge $2K if we use a switcher that is about $600 on Amazon, and that's probably the route we'll take. I could nit-pick a few things; I wish it had wireless Car Play and Android Auto instead of having to plug in, but for $50 you can get a wireless adapter for that purpose. Plus the 360 view should have been standard on all trim lines in my opinion because of the safety factor. It's interesting that you charge to 80% to maximize battery life. We've been just topping it off every night and not thinking about battery life, but maybe we shouldn't be so cavalier. Anyway, thanks for the review!

    What i think is that Nissan needs to either discontinue the Leaf and focus all attention on the Ariya or heavily improve it, such as give the S a range of 212 and the SVplus with a range of 270,make both of them have a CCS charger, liquid cool battery, preheat battery setting, and give more technology to the S model such as heated steering wheel or heated seats and lane keeping assist. That what I think.

  • @silverghini2629
    @silverghini2629 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Nissan’s advice is to not worry about charging to 80% as they already have headroom on the battery. So just charge to 100% and don’t worry about it. You have a warranty.

    I am not surprised at all. I have rode in the model 3 and in the Leaf and I would take a Leaf over a Tesla abytime. Leaf is more comfortable, much better ride and fit and finish in the interior is far superior and the same goes for the msterials used. although the Y might match the leaf in terms of practicality, it is much more expensive. The Teslas are superior in terms of charge speed, no doubt but I would fsvour comfort and interior quality.

    I have a Universal Tesla Wall Connector and I cannot, for the life of me, get it to commission. The WIFI connection from the wall connector has been set up and the wall connector is accessible from the wifi. When I access the wall connector either through my wifi or through the wall connector's WIFI it tells me to use the Tesla One app to commission. So I sign into the Tesla One app, scan the QR code for the Wall connector and connect my phone to the wall connector's wifi. The wall connector is flashing green. Now I get the error "Failed to connect to device" on the Tesla One app. So it looks like I have an expensive paperweight.

    The dryer outlet being used here is a 30 amp NEMA 14-30 so it's well below the 50 amps an actual 14-50 outlet could provide. However the Leaf is limited to a rather low 6.6kW which is below what a 30 amp outlet could do and well below what a 50 amp outlet can do as well. So you're more limited by the car itself rather than how much power you have available in your home. Don't buy a Leaf unless you really understand it's limitations.

    Muchas gracias!!! Tu video solucionó el problema de que el instalador dejó configurado el cargador a baja corriente, no sabía que hacer….

    Thank you for the informative video. I have a 2018 Leaf SL, 46Ah battery, EPA 150mi range. I'm retired and find that the Level 1 charging serves my purpose just fine for near-ranging in the SF Bay Area. The Leaf is perfect for the LibNut Bastion 😂 of the SF Bay Area, L2 and ChaDeMos up the yingyang everywhere. I have two 4L V8 vehicles to range further - a Land Rover and a Lexus sedan. Once you get away from lala land, say into the California Central Valley, charging options diminish noticeably.

    Wow, I thought the granny charger was slow on our 240v sockets in the UK but after seeing it run on 110v I'm not complaining 👍👍
