Journey to Homestead
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 มิ.ย. 2019
My husband and I bought 2.14 acres of raw land in the Arizona desert to start building our forever homestead from the ground up... all while wrangling two kids under three.
We didn't have a house or business to sell as starter money, so we will be building debt free to show others that it is possible to build their dream homestead with no starter money.
So follow my family and I on our next big adventure in life as we build our future together and document our fails and successes along the way.

Welcome and thank you for the support!
just a fyi about down here. avg wells here r costing around 15k just for digging it and the casing. if u want the company to put in the well pump and piping and wiring its around another 7500 bucks. then theres roughly a 15 month wait list for the driller to get out. then comes power.when i called about pwr the pwr company said it was 10 k a pole to start for grid power to b run. since you have a hitch setup for the suv i would get a trailer( harbor freight biggest one is decent for the money. weight capacity is like 1800 lbs or so. hauling materials and then u could get a 275 gallon ibc tote to haul water later if need b.
Pretty much everywhere in Arizona they seem to charge an arm and leg for a well. Likely we have power poles at the back of the property, so that will save us one expense hopefully. Thank you for the info, we'll check out the trailers!
WOW guys. It is looking good 👍. I like it.
Thanks so much!
when you order that culvert go ahead and get 2 more for your future driveways.or however many connections u will have to the main rd from your property.
Great advice, thanks for that!
Love you guys, that’s awesome, my family and I did the same things you are doing but in northern az , we started 3 years ago. Good job !
It's great to hear from people who are doing similar things. Thanks for the support!
Loving these videos! A way to get around seeing who the owner is of a property if it's held in an LLC is through a Secretary of State business search for most states. There are a few states behind a paywall, but a lot of them are free. Just plug in the LLC's name in the business search and you will see a list of the officers and the registered agent, when the LLC was formed, it's current status and an address. A registered agent could be the owner or the name of the person receiving the mail for the owner. Hope this helps. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for that great information! It is much appreciated when someone is willing to share information to help others out. ❤
Great progress 🙂
Hi. GM. I want a place to live out there around people like you and me. Is there any more acres for sale around there?
Good morning! If you have not, please check out these videos and you should be able to find something. Land Research: th-cam.com/play/PL-_8aWPl5-2t85nJfM0eYzI6HBExOJIMO.html
Good WORK!!°
Thank you!
New Sub here...Looking forward to following your journey!
We bought land in Cochise County earlier this year but havent been able to visit yet. Did it take long to book the surveyor? And about how much did it cost?
It took us a while to find a surveyor who would come out to our area without charging a lot. They were booked about a month out. We got a lot of quotes, but a lot of them included the distance they had to drive.
@ Okay a month isnt too bad. Thanks for the info!
No problem! Congratulations and good luck with your land!
Congrats. I’m in Cochise county as well
Thank you! Cochise County is such a beautiful place!
You all are doing good!! Continued prayers
Thank you!
Yep yep let’s go❤❤❤
Put a bunch of lights!!!...it's dark out here at night
I'm in Cochise Co, too! Nice to run across your video. I'm also building a fence. Wooden, but still.. building a fence is hard work! Nice job you guys are doing. Looking forward to more vids of your progress. 😊
Hello neighbor!! Thanks for the support. Fences are a lot work, but so rewarding to see them come together especially when you do it yourself. Good luck with yours and we'll keep the videos coming!
HELLO I AM NEW TO YOUR CHANNEL #NOT A DAY WITHOUT JESUS 🙏

I like the video! I'll be following along, oh and nice work on the fence! I built part of my fence today in my garden!
Thanks for joining! Being able to build something with your own hands is very rewarding!
Looking good y'all - please keep sharing ❤🙏🏾
Thank you so much for the support!
I think you should put the lights it's dark out there. Plus, there's no street lights yet.
Going to be a nice looking wall 🙂
Your guys team work is very inspiring proof that you can do whatever you put your mind to great job
Thank you so much for your kind words! When we all come together with a shared vision, there's no limit to what we can achieve. We're excited to keep pushing boundaries 🙂
I love what you are doing! My wife and I are in the process of securing land right now in Cochise (near McNeal). I have been working on homesteading ideas/processes for years now, and would love to share with you. Maybe we could meet up sometime and see how we could build community, and help each other out? Regardless, wishing your family the very best! <3
Congratulations! Buying land is such a great experience. Best wishes to you and your wife.
Nice video 👍
Great jobs you guys. Me and my husband did the same thing. A metal rake actually helped a lot when we were working on uneven spots. Keep up the hard work! Happy holidays to you and your family ❤
Thank you! We were literally talking about a rake the whole time out there. We just never needed one living that city life, ya know. That's our next purchase!!
This reminds me how i used to develop with Papa. He would be so proud of yall. Thanks for sharing cant wait to see more.
Another great video! Keep up the hard work. What made you choose Cochise County over Kingman? We are trying to decide. Thanks
Ultimately, it came down to the environment for us. Cochise County has beautiful mountain ranges, milder summers, and a small town feel. It's one of those things where when you step foot on the land, everything just clicks and feels right. 😊
Howdy neighbor ❤🎉
Hello!
Wishing you great success.
We appreciate it!
Welcome to Cochise County. Looking forward to your build. Congratulations.
Thank you! We're happy to have you along for the journey.
What are your sources for water/what are you doing for that while building a homestead in the desert?
As of right now, we're hauling in water as we need it. Long-term plans involve water tanks, and it's great because we have a water station down the street!
Breakfast looks Delicious!!!
Congrat on buying land!!! Look forward to following the journey.
@@manifestingourfamilyhomestead Thank you!!🙂
Are you guys taking part in the opt out? What kind of build do you guys plan on doing?
No, we don't have the required acreage for the opt-out, unfortunately. We're still deciding on our builds. However, we want everything to be permaculture friendly...still doing research🙂
@ oh yeah! lol silly me .
You guys may have some issues with your footings. You want to mix the concrete first and then pour it. Putting water on top without properly mixing will leave your concrete full of air bubbles and cracks etc. Theres a mix to water ratio to follow. Also, laying down something to reinforce your footings like rebar would help with tensile strength, or it could crack that way as well. I’m sure you guys aren’t experts and that’s okay. There’s plenty of videos and info out here that’ll equip you all with the right skills. I’m saying all this with love, because I hear those babies in the background and I want your family to have a nice, safe, structurally sound home. I’m a carpenter and an artist. I just started this channel fresh and I’ll be uploading my builds and off grid lifestyle as well. Let’s stay connected and I’ll pass on all the knowledge I have and help where I can. Good luck on your journey 🙏🏾💚
Thanks for your perspective! We used fast setting concrete that allowed for a dry pour, so no mixing required, and we followed the water ratio given on the bags. We only need rebars for our pillars (those will be attached to the footer using Epoxy at a later time) since the wall will only be 16 inches high. A lot of research was put into this project, and safety is always our #1 priority. Thanks for watching the video!
Excited for your content!
Excellent video. Very informative. Subscribed!
Thank you for subscribing!🙂
Definitely not looking forward to the Labor part😂😂😂
😅
I hate when I'm interested in a listing for land and then I plug the parcel in and nothing comes up. It makes me feel it's a scam.
That's definitely a red flag!
Glad it all worked out!
Great information!
“Nobody has money for that” 😂 girl preach . I can’t wait for the animal phase of the homestead.. that’s when it really gets fun.
