Ride aboard TransLink's first Xcelsior (XD40) on route 255. Coach 1202 is the first of seventeen such buses to enter service.

Musical D60LF - R8063

A pleasurable ride aboard a musical D60LF; and because of its distinctive sound, R8063 has made my list of favorite buses! I dont know what causes this "out of tune instrument " sound, so anyone with any thoughts or ideas please place a comment with any reasoning you may have for this unusual sound. This is a small clip of the new Skytrain cars. Although they're still covered in plastic to protect them during shipping, they are very fresh and have only arrived at OMC (Skytrain Operations and Maintenance Centre) a few days ago. matt4756 novabus makes shitty units
I know, Especially the ones from 2007 and 2008 like they are the worst and they still use the bell noise for when you pull the string thing when the next stop is yours and what sucks is Translink ordered some new ones last year and have entered service and those Suburban Nova Buses are not Suburban at all, on how the seats are designed they are terrible and I wish translink would just stop ordering those Shitty Nova Buses and order some good New Flyers or maybe they can order some Vicinity Buses.
These novas are garbage you should scrap the novas and buy more de60lfrs

There are 4 B-line buses one is the D40LF second is DE60LR next is a black and grey XDE60
I've ridden on 2009 NewFlyer DE60LFRs before.
Sounds like a leaky turbo...
This bus still operates on the 49,480 and the 620

Maybe the valve makes it do that or if it's EGR it would do that.

Wow that was quite impressive. Our Orion V's do this, but you normally cannot hear it on the inside, plus this D60LF was changing a lot of keys to the point of making a decent song. No joke.
TheCRTman It is, one D40LF ( 7170 ) did this for a few days and when I was trying to get a recording of it the mechanics fixed it the day before :/ Wow, your Orion V's seems to be making any noise out there :O This D60LF sounds much more better than modern day music.
Ninja Bus Fan Oh that sucks. It was a mechanical problem? Yeah our Orions sound musical in person, but only on the outside. Some do 1-2 key changes, while others do 3-4 along with some coughing these days. :P That's exactly what I was thinking!
TheCRTman Seems like its a mechanical issue, so if I were to hear them take off, it'll sound something like that ^ ? I remember seeing another musical bus video but I can't find it :/

back in the days when the 98 b-line was in service i sometimes hear the whistling sound on the bus and it is annoying

I've seen a few running around Burnaby, haven't had a chance to ride one yet though.
Yes, i hate it when they stand by the doors, but sometimes they have to because the bus gets packed. but with these big doors its very easy to get out. Also like you said to keep people from exiting threw the front door.

I never liked Nova LFS. but until recently i started hearing them from other places and i was like wow. and this one sounds real good too.
I like the nice big rear doors! makes getting out way easyer.

I wish the C40LFRs I drive whistle everyday.
The whistling is coming from the constant flow of air thought the radiator. Which is totally normal, but the way that its flowing through past the fan, is what's causing it. Pretty much all DD50's in North America have done this at some point.
Is the driver seat on 8119 a USSC driver seat or is it a canadian manufacturer?

Is this the first Nova LFS HEV with this rear delivered to a transport company ? Did already somebody see it in action ? Did somebody ride by this one ?
