    I'm guessing this kid is at least a third Dan, being he is doing this kata. I would wager this guy, most likely, has went from white belt all the way to 3rd dan and has had almost 0 contact with another person the whole time. If there were contact I am sure pads were involved. As well I'd say not one bruise or bloody nose during that time either. Now some would say that is a good thing, I'd say he is a victim of modern martial arts. I started in the late 70's and it was in the mid 80's when true combat began to fade and a lesser skill took over. I'm not really commenting on this video but martial arts as a whole, I just happen to be watching this video when the muse hit me to rant upon my soapbox. No disrespect to this guy or this channel, just a point of view from an aging person who has watched as martial arts became a dance or a spectacle rather than a means of real self defense.

    i found so many mistakes. One being her "Low high" turning kicks, the low one didn't even look like a kick and she didn't chamber it in for the second kick, she just raised her leg. Also, when she does her double knife hand, the back hand is too high, it should be in line with her uniform badge on her chest, additionally, her back hand scoops under to get into position, it should be almost linear, from left to right.

    Well: with all due respect: 1. how old is she? 2. Black Belt...really? Can she really defend herself in a real life situation? 3. Is this another "black belt puppy" school where you test every three moths whether you're ready of not? Most people I have trained with over the years have taken 7-9 years to EARN a real black belt When I see children with black belts, I have to ask....what is going on? Is it all just about the money? Maybe I'm just old school I mean no disrespect to the little girl

    • @therealmfwic9503
      @therealmfwic9503 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree 100%! I’m so sick of seeing these kids and young adults running around with their black belts. Then you spar them and they can’t do anything. It’s all a joke. At my previous school there was an 11 year old who was a second degree black belt! We all had to bow and respect him and call him by his last name. So fucking stupid. I saw that and was like “see ya”

    • @weekendpartier
      @weekendpartier 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ALL ABOUT THE MONEY... AMERICAN MIDWEST IN PARTICULAR SUCK. If the kids don't earn a stripe, they quit... like participation trophies... When I took WTF TKD, old school, we had 5 belts, no stripes of any kind: white, yellow, green, red and black. I got my black belt in 3 years, that was going to class 5 nights per week and Saturdays...

      Well i am 12 years old and i am a black belt. I am a state champion and competed in multiple competitions. So yes, for those of u asking, u don’t have to be an adult to get a black belt. and just because young people get there black belt dosent mean it’s not real. I worked really really hard to compete and get where i am today. Taekwondo isn’t about what age u are. It dosent matter if ur a kid with a black belt or an adult for a black belt. Taekwondo is for all ages. And as long as u work hard ( because trust me getting a black belt is not easy). and u have a level of technique Than u can test for ur black belt. Y’all have to stop judging us. Just because we’re young dosent mean we never worked hard. Age is just a number.
