Hello. I decided not to buy the van. There was a company in the north west who said they could do it (but I cannot recall the company name), and the space under the van seemed to allow it.

Yeah, the hinges on those lockers are excellent but it feels like one bigger locker with a single door would be more practical and usable.

I’ve lived over 230 nights in a 680 over the last 2.5 years and it’s the best van I’ve ever had bar none, even a custom van I once was stupid enough to commission, the lockers just need to well organised, the fridge is very versatile and actually doesn’t have the draw back of ‘spilling’ all the chilled air every time you open it, and the white interior just never dates, you can change the whole thing with with just a few colour changes, and it’s dead easy to keep clean…what I have changed is the rock hard rear seats, I’ve had the seats re-upholstered in leather to my own design, bigger solar panels and lithium batteries and I’ve added shelves to a few of the big cabinets, apart from that its brilliant, just saying !

I agree, there's a lot to be said about things being in place and ready to go v a lot of time overcoming some of the complexities of fit n finish. One of the main challenges is not getting carried away on the money side of things. Seems very easy to spend money like it's gone out of fashion and balancing that with later regrets :-). I wasn't too pleased with it as I was all over the place with no real structure and realised afterwards that I'd started talking about something and got distracted without finishing it at times. Yes, I agree, it all needs to be part of, let's be frank, a big decision when buying a new van especially with prices as they are right now. It would make the decision easier if the two industries formed a forum and expedited a commercial arrangement of some sort that gave some guarantees about the future supplies of each option. I don't know if they've had discussions about such an arrangement but it does seem like a territorial disconnect where there's no cohesive leadership from the manufacturers to drive a sustainable future for these gas systems in vans. Yet, some still keep building them recommending cylinders that are no longer available. Potential customers left either uninformed or scrambling for a solution at additional cost for them. I'm not one for regulation but it does feel like the customer isn't at the heart of what's going on... I agree also that a diesel heater and water heater would be a safer bet right now. I agree, the prices have become insanely high. I appreciate that materials and base vehicles have increased. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will change for the better in the near future. If you're happy with what you have then why change and pay the silly prices that they are now. Anyone who bought new 3or4 years ago can now probably sell for what they paid. I wouldn't buy knowing that someone had that amount of time and it cost them nothing. Good luck to them. And as for the people who are willing to pay for a new van then " cost of living crisis WHAT COST OF LIVING CRISIS"

Hello. I think the only bottle sizes that fit in the space are actually smaller than the 3.9kg propane bottles, somewhat significantly so. The CampingGaz ones and the refillable ones that fit are smaller. I just want the manufacturers to instigate a solution that is fit for purpose where their vehicle layouts have the physical space elsewhere to allow them to do so. I'm really thinking of those vans that rely heavily on gas. Alternatively, switch to diesel for hot water and heating, reducing the gas consumption at a lower level where smaller bottles may be acceptable. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hello. Yes, I watched your video and think it's a great video showing the option. I'd just like a solution ideally to be in place in a van that's going to cost me c£79k. It feels like the manufacturers have a much better chance of fixing the issue to make new vans ready for larger bottles or refillable solutions than having the additional expense and work post-purchase. Yes, they would be options post-purchase of a vehicle. I'm trying to get commitment that the company manufacturing the van won't say that my modifications in some way impair or negate the warranty given the major cost of these vehicles these days. Thanks for watching and commenting.

That was true in my VWT6.1 camper, I agree. In these vans however pretty much everything is reliant on gas while you are not plugged-in to mains as far as I know. So, from experience, the CG907s are great for light hob use but the 6kg propane cylinders more appropriate if you do any winter visits to places where there is no electrical hookup. So, I have learned to try and get the right setup for each person at the start ideally. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Yes, I understand that some of the other converters do seem to have an immaculate attention to detail and allow bespoke characteristics. I'm hoping at some point to visit the S&L place at some point. Hope you enjoy your trip there and thanks for the comment and watching...
