Thank you so much for sharing these videos. My Dad was a coal miner originally from Reynoldsville WV outside of Clarksburg. He moved to Imperial and worked for North Star Coal sometime in the 50s I believe. He had 12 kids with his first wife and raised them outside of Oakdale. I was number 13 after his first wife passed he married my Mom. I can say that my Dad spent many days telling me stories of the history of the area the way that you do. I was only 15 when he passed away in 1988. I would give anything to listen to his stories one more time but I was a teenager and didn't fully appreciate what was being told to me. He showed me where the mine was that he worked at and it was a flooded swampland. I have no idea where it was. My Dad lived in Moon Run then and we would explore the landscape there, the slag piles near route 60 and 79. There was the Moon Run railroad that once ran through the valley and there was the old tipple and remnants in the valley. I sure miss those days.
