That's a fun spot to fish, my family lived at Whitestone logging camp in the 90's. Hopefully you were able to fish other streams on the island.

At basswood try trolling the deeper sections northwest of beaver island near rice bay. Also try trolling north of canoe island. Deeper 9+ inch plugs and jointed baits work best for the big ones.

Hi! That is a toyo (also wrote tollo). It is not a shark. Is like the shark's cousin but the fact you took him from the shore is actually very rare because they are in open waters. In Perú we use it for the ceviche.
