Love the 400 engine, but it is one heavy beast. I went from the XR to a KTM200 then a KTM300 and the weight and suspension are just on another level by far

really only 11 ribs i broke my left hip and femur my right wrist my pelvis my right shine at the ankle and knee i bruised all my insides and punctured both lungs and i cut my spleen in three places so i was bleeding from the inside. I hit 2 trees at 100km and i died when i hit the tree and my back rapped around the second tree i got airlifted to Brisbane and i had 4 surgery's i was in a coma i went crazy i had 8 blood transfusions. and i got out of hospital in 27 days they said i was gonna be in there for 4 months and it happened on the 3/4/19 and its only been a little over a year and i can almost walk again and my hip and femur bone died i have 3 screws in my hip and 7 screws and a metal plate on my femur and a pin in my right ankle and i did have a k wire in my wrist, and the funny thing is that in gonna hop on a dirt bike early next year because i have to go down to Brisbane again on the 6 on January to see if i can walk but of course i hope your ok and i have been riding for 10 years i was 14 when it happened and now in 15

Ahh. The novice trail rider.... First thing you need to do is lower the compression dampening on your forks..they are not reating at the speed your expecting them to...probably wouldn't hurt to loosen up that shock spring preload in the back too... That bike is awfully warbly.... You can not go by the magazine or handbook suggested suspension settings....those are top performance generalized settings...usually set for fireroad high speed type riding.... Your front end should be soft as shit....with not much rebound dampening either....you want them forks to wallow that front tire tire over and thru everything..... If you turn down all the dampening and still feel jolts and small bumps lifting the front end....you'll have to change the fork oil to a lighter grad oil...mabey 5 weight....that'll get 'em reacting quick and give you precise control over the amount of dampening you actually need...same thing with the rear.... Lower that spring down after you fix the fork (with both dampening controls on minimum...) little at a time until you feel that magic rear end ride height...that bike will climb better accelerate faster soake up bumps better and corner much better....then mess with dampening .....the rear is a give and take affair....never perfect but livable....do these things and your riding will alot more rewarding...
