Highfleet: An Efficient Little Interceptor

Designed as a cheap interceptor. Structural hull is powered by 2 D-30 & D-30S with output thrust of 45MN/10kg/s. Highfleet Cruiser- "Minerva"

Base Game inspired cruiser design. 166k plenty pew pew and defensive armaments.
2 major problems with this design, if any engine will be hit, and it will be hit with proximity fuse shells no matter how much you try to avoid it, then ship goes into uncontrollable spin. It also can be overwhelmed by large salvo of missiles and will have a hard time against AA from ground. The main pros is that it's cheaper than the best ship in game and can be as effective during early game. That's a huge plus. It also technically stealth interceptor due to use of 3 engines and small profile that has IR sign of 120km with chance of 92% and RD sign with chance of 69%. That's impressive. That mean that this ship can ambush strike group with relative success without alarming their radars before attack. It also probably mean that missiles will have hard time to get in range with this ship due to additional 166km RD sign advantage, they won't be able to see it before 166km. However there is still not enough of firepower for such a fight and in order to ambush strike group like that you would still need to know it's whereabouts. All in all i like this ship for cheap price and extremely low fuel consumption. These are the main selling points to me during early game. Some time later in the game i would definitely add APS. And in late game i would make sure to build Lightning out of this. Because it will be Lvl 8 experience, and i can't see a universe in which it would be able to survive the end game shitfest without being build as a thick reinforced Chadling with 4 APS, 2 130mm guns, 2 missiles and 6 engines. After all, every ship in game has the soul of Lightning in it.
Excellent observation! This interceptor's role in the fleet is to perform quick strikes on garrisons and even catch cargo ships(although it does have issues of not being able to reliably capture them quietly for not reaching 500km/hr). If you built it and tried it yourself you will also learn how you will need to be adept at piloting to perform well against frigates. This ship is no easy corvette to fly effectively. If you wish to have higher success they will need to strike garrisons in pairs to ensure minimal casualties. The combat range you will perform are usually far midrange or close range if neccessary. For cases of strike groups they will at best draw out anti ship missiles and disengage for your Brawler type ships to engage without worrying about ASM for combat. In other cases can be used to intercept aircrafts. Given how dynamic the game can shift in campaign, the modularity of this ship is limited but in a repair bay you could perform an overhaul to change the ship if needed. Given its cheap price it can offer potential overhaul designs to fit your needs when you so desire.
Good piloting as much as any engineering advantage.
Good efficient piloting too. Not overheating your engines or wasting fuel, moving small amounts; just enough to stay out of firing arcs. Good use of the edict that 'dodging by an inch is as good as dodging by a mile'.
A bulky version of varyag, i think its cool
