Check out the patterdale terriers they aren't that big but they think they are a crossbetween Arnie and stills the Hun,but the same can be said for most terriers but the patterdale goes in after foxes under ground loving things like it like ratting.etc very good as a house dog as they soon hear anyone outside jack's are like it too
When I owned a staff an older chap told me that.it is entirely possible that a staff can keeplevel with a whippet for the first 25yards or so of a sprint race.also.if you are ever at a country show stay to watch the terrier race it is Marx brothers chaos.usually

:-) I use clicker to teach my dog, and need a lot of patience. :-) Look for it in here "kikopup", many things to learn from her. Good luck! ;-)
