Spike was the best part of this show....
You say blood kin, not family. So even you know you aren't family. As for Spike, if things came to blows, he's going in. Without a doubt. He said he didn't but did something anyway. What form his action took depended on how it went.
While it is true that Tara might still be alive if she went with her blood kin, she would be a slave and not really living.
Spike 😂👍
I always find it odd that Tara's father watches Buffy LITERALLY curb-stomp a demon, and then tries to intimidate her. But then, that kind of malignant narcissism, I guess it makes sense.
Tara’s family: A witch, an ex-demon, a vampire who later got his soul back, a vampire slayer, a dude who’s been in more supernatural situations than all these people combined, and don’t forget the slayer’s watcher, and an energy orb-turned-human.
Ironic isn’t it that later Tara was killed! If she had gone with her family she’d probably still be alive. Yet I think even if she had known she would have stayed anyways
I'm surprised that none of the gang, having learned about the deception these a-holes pull on "their" women, didn't offer Beth (Amy Adamsss's''ss's character) a way out too, considering she was just as abused/controlled.
such a missed opportunity to have a bit more of a tara-appreciates-spike friendship though. Spike picked up on something that nobody else did and he was the only one to demonstrate what was wrong immediately without Tara's family having any chance to weasel out of it.
The sad part is that had Tara gone with her "blood kin," she would still be alive. Miserable, but alive.
I love this episode so much!
I just like to think how confused Tara's family was about Spike hitting Tara and screaming, because of course they have no idea he's a vampire with a chip in his head from a secret government initiative. So the Scoobies are 100% certain Tara is not a demon while Tara's family is lie "wait what...?"
She's a hair puller 😂
"Except me" yup, good ol' caring spike
Dawn: “You don’t wanna mess with us.” Buffy: “She’s a hair puller” Buffy: “… and I’m a being with superhuman strength and speed that has defeated countless demons and vampires.”
I love this episode! Tara ❤
The notion of a woman being chauvinistically exploited & repressed for decades is horrible.I'd like to think that when they get back home,Tara's sister is gonna make some changes.
I don’t think Tara has a sister … only her brother Donnie, and the woman depicted in this scene is her cousin Beth.
How can you call such a pure soul as Tara evil ?
How did they get Amy Adams to do this small role as a daughter in the family?
Because this is like her second role ever. This is before she blew up.
You're a piece of work. I like you
"He hurt my nose" lol I love that part
I know everyone stepped up in their own way, but Xander threatening to batter the actual brother has such a wholesome, big brother vibe
I see far too many people saying Spike cares because he hurt himself to prove Tara wasn't a demon. Spike is a vapid, attention seeking narcissist. To him, a few seconds of intense pain was well worth being able to say (without actually saying it) "hey, look at this thing I was able to figure out before anyone else".
Well, the punch from Spike proved she isn't a demon to us the viewers and to the scoobie gang but her family wouldn't of known what that was all about and would've just continued pushing to take Tara with them. I would've expected Spike to have to show his demon face to really cow those maggots or for Willow to do something to them with magic or for Buffy to throw one of them into the wall.
Really wanted to see daddy's face when he discovered the little girls had POWER, but I still love this scene !
Would have really liked to see Daddy get kicked out the door.
People seem to think Spike stepped up because he cares… he doesn’t. But he absolutely would step in just to watch that maggot of a man squirm. He loves pushing peoples buttons.
This being another metaphor for being gay is so good - i.e. the line about “her problem”
"I swear by your full and manl beard you'll break something trying" might well be the best line spoken by Nicholas Brendan during his entire time on the show. I would have liked to see that.
Spike is perfection in this scene
"She´s a hair-puller" 😆
Pourquoi ils ont tué Tara 😢 ils ont fait une énorme erreur 😢😢😢
That look after "Some are considered useful members of society" god Anya was so adorable.
Спайк :))))
I would have loved to see Buffy put dad in his place when he totally underestimates her power.
"It's not your decision young lady!" "I KNOW THAT!"
Hi Spike 👋
Tara’s father was an egotist. She didn’t have a problem, she had a gift.
Instant fan fic: my immediate reaction to Tara's family as my ego surrogate, insinuated in character is, "...And by the way, assholes, where were you when Tara needed you? Now you come groveling to take her back, threatening and pleading like the transparent jerks you are!"
LONG LAST THE SCOOBIE GANG!
Spike fulfilling his life's purpose masterfully as always. xD
It’s funny Spike says he doesn’t care but puts himself in pain to prove Tara’s not a demon. Even without a soul, he still formed some kind of connection with all of the Scoobies, from a friendship with Dawn and Willow, to a sort of friendship with Tara and a love hate relationship with Buffy. Xander and Giles just hate his guts, but the other 4s friendlyish relationship with him keep him around
If you consider Neil Gaiman's American Gods , there mguth be a lot that are causationally annoying, rather than innate evil, due to the disrespectful formulation of their assembly. Like...PVC solvents are invisible demonic money holy to the satanic armorer but very toxic to humans, that is accorded by default as reparations if the sale should fail to recoup the expenditure.
Sure, he's a bit of a tsundere, but Spike demonstrates again and again that he's more good than evil. In the end, he just wanted someone to love him back.
Back in 1999 at GenCon in Milwaukee I Met James Masters(Spike) he signed my monster book of monsters but then my apartment building caught on fire and I lost everything
I love spike - you’re a piece of work i like you.
Why does the uncle look like a goblin from the Harry Potter movies lolz
I like the way that Giles steps up too.
3:39 I wish spike said Spike- u know she’s into girls right (They all look shocked but the sisters laughs) Spike- nice family you got there
Spike.....LMAO :D
