Psalm 30
I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord I made supplication.
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? Shall it declare thy truth?
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
Brothers of the Knights Templar, today we turn our hearts to Psalm 30, a psalm of thanksgiving and triumph. It is a powerful reminder of God’s steadfast love and mercy, even in our darkest hours. David’s words resonate with our mission as warriors of Christ, called to stand firm, unshaken, and unyielding in our faith.
David begins by exalting the Lord:
"I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me."
This is our charge as Templars-to lift high the name of the Lord, recognizing that every victory, every deliverance, and every healing comes from His mighty hand. When the enemies of faith surround us, when the world seeks to silence truth, God remains our shield and our salvation.
David also reminds us that hardship is not forever:
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
Brothers, our lives as Christian men will not be without trials. We will face loss, pain, and moments where our strength falters. Yet we must hold fast to this promise: God’s favor and joy will come. Our struggles are not the end-they are the path to His glory.
As Knights Templar, we are called to be warriors of hope in a broken world. Let us embody this psalm:
In Your Community: Be a voice of strength and encouragement to those around you. When others falter, remind them that God turns mourning into dancing.
In Your Family: Lead with faith, showing your loved ones that God’s mercy is a strong foundation. Pray with them, guide them, and protect them with Christ’s truth.
In Yourself: Stand firm in God’s promises. When you feel weak, call upon Him who girds us with gladness and strength.
David concludes:
"Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness."
This transformation is our testimony as Christian men. The world sees despair, but we proclaim hope. The world walks in darkness, but we bear the light of Christ.

how many wars, how much misery, how much oppression, how much exploitation, how many deaths, how many lies, how much hatred has been spread in the past centuries by religion. I am glad that I do not believe and can determine for myself what is right and wrong. In that, religion is for me at least the center of evil with the slogan of love or peace. I hope that a day will come that we will be freed from this and can live together in peace with true love.
Your perspective is deeply important, and I understand the pain and confusion that can arise from history’s misuse of religion. True faith, however, isn’t about war or oppression-it’s about love, humility, and a personal relationship with God. Jesus Himself condemned the misuse of power in His name and called us to serve, not exploit. The slogan of love and peace isn’t empty-it’s a call to action for believers to live in a way that reflects God’s true nature. I pray for the day you find the peace and love you seek, for He welcomes all with open arms. Until that day may God bless you brother.

Religion can only spread widely by means of war and subjugation (Islam) or by economic prosperity, fear and exploitation (Christianity). Religions that do not do or are not that, for example Hinduism and Buddhism are therefore smaller. Both are also based more on the laws of nature than on the dictates of a god. In addition, there are a few hundred religions. Every year someone stands up somewhere who preaches that there is a new true religion. We call those sects. These demagogues usually drive around in 5 Ferraris and are allowed to have sex with all the women of the glovigs. That is how almost every religion comes into being. A person who is looking for power and well-being for his own good or frustrations. Later his words are rewritten into better stories, some stories and anecdotes are then made up and voila, we have a religion again.
