We live into all parts of this brief statement from the joy that permeates our worship and fellowship times, to the service we do within our community through Toni’s Kitchen to our Spiritual Enrichment programs that help us seek Christ in the many ways that we can. Patrick, thanks for your honest sharing and heartfelt dedication to St Lukes. I'm encouraged to do more thru your example!
Nicely sung. The music comes from the Manuscript of Susanne van Soldt, a collection of 33 hand copied songs, dated 1599, though the manuscript actually dates to circa 1579. The hymn, "Father God of All Things Living" also uses this melody. I can't find it on You Tube (or even online), but here are the lyrics: Father God of all things living, give us now our daily bread. Thou hast taken our thanksgiving, through Thy Son whose blood was shed. Jesus bids us take and eat, take and see the Lord is sweet. Do Thou Christ in loving kindness, bind our wounds and heal our blindness. Lo, a banquet likes before us, given here by God's own Son. It hath power to restore us, strength when we are wavering. Jesus come to us again, Thou art light and life to men, Thus we eat the food Thou gave'st us, on the night Thou deigned to save us.
