The Johnson Avenue Church of Christ is located in El Cajon, California. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God (Matt. 16:16) and that he came to take away the sins of the world (John 1:29). We pray that you find these videos encouraging and beneficial to your faith. If you have any questions and would like to discuss them with us, we can be contacted through our website (jacofc.org). God Bless!

It saddens me this man is so confident they have it all right. And others only partially right. Church of Christ is also just a denomination, but the body of Christ includes many denominations with all their flaws.
The Lord's church is identified in the New Testament with several names such as: The church of God, The church of of the Firstborn, Body of Christ, church of Christ, etc. I agree the unfortunate fact is that many have used the name "Church of Christ" as a denomination and that's led many away from the truth that the Lord's church is singular in its nature and all inclusive of every baptized believer from every land and from every age. Our "confidence" is not in our own wisdom but in the clear truth revealed in God's word.
So is it the baptism of the Holy Spirit that saves before water baptism is administered, or does one not have a clean conscience by the baptism of the Holy Spirit through accepting Christ as Savior until water baptism is administered?
1 Peter 3:21 (KJV) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Titus 3:4-8, 14 (KJV) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
When are your works good enough? Galatians 3 should be discussed. We are saved by grace through faith and not of works lest anyone should boast. Our works can never be good enough to merit our staying in God's good graces either. Our faith must result in good works or no one should believe we were regenerate, but our works can never be good enough. Our righteousness is as filthy rags before a holy God. Trusting in Christ's sufficiency is the only way.
Thanks everyone for being there!
