I feel really bad about a time I didn't punch a guy and it seems ephemeral enough as a youtube comment that I can get it off my chest and then fuckabout with the rest of my evening I was taught not to fight by my uncles. I had a bunch of uncles who weren't related to me. It was a function of my dad not wanting to talk about what he did in his 20s. All my uncles taught me not to fight. If you're the best at a complication you won three moves before you never have to raise your hand if you are good enough. They also taught me how to end fights in one move. One time a kid we were both in 8th grade in a low income section of Florida. He swung a haymaker at me, with my back against a concrete wall I stepped slightly left, grabbed his elbow that was swinging, and pressed it into the wall I will never get the sound of the crunch out of my head when his finger bones splintered I immediately started crying and hugged him and started apologizing The moment was less than two seconds and barely anyone noticed which I'm grateful for because that netted us the ability for him to be in shock and in pain and me being terribly sorry for just long enough for me to move us into the stairwell, inform him of what was happening, and guiding us both down to the office and the on site nurse. Hey, Florida, of course we had a grumpy working on-site nurse
