The evolution of my Fontanini nativity display from 2016 to present.
Each setup includes some form of water feature and a few plants. Since the figures are static, the flow of water provides movement and the few included plants add life. Definitely 'no' to plastic/artificial plants.
Every year I try to create a better setup as well. Compare my first attempt at creating a stream in 2016 with the succeeding setups, admittedly the first was very lame.
Fontanini has many characters and animal figures, as well as other accessories so you can create a full village if you wish. I chose only the main characters (and the animals associated with them) so that they don't get lost in the crowd but more importantly, to highlight the reason for the season. Merry Christmas!

It's the most wonderful time of the year again! And this is my Christmas nativity display for 2024! Featuring the annual display of my Fontanini nativity characters.
The setting is completely new; in a cave and with the longest stream so far. There are two waterfalls along the stream. Like last year, this year I used red lava rocks for cave walls and the water feature.

Hi, I’m from India. I too love setting up a Nativity scene every Christmas. But it’s no where as good as yours. If you could pls share a video of the build techniques you use. Lastly, the quality of the figures we get in India is not as good- do you buy them online ? Thnks, may the joy of Christmas be with u through 2022. ✨✨✨
Thank you so much Orsan2010. I was thinking of making a video of the process in building 2021's setup but somehow I decided not to. I should do it in the next project. As for your question, yes, I bought some of my characters online. If you want brand new Fontanini items, try to avoid buying from online stores in the US, they are quite expensive. I don't want to promote any particular online store here but I will suggest to look for the ones in Europe (e.g., Italy). Their brand new Fontaninis are a LOT cheaper even with the shipping cost added (that is, if you buy more than 1 or 2). Used Fontanini characters are also cheaper on ebay but I suggest look for brand new first since they can come out cheaper than used ones. I hope this helps. Thanks.
