The Clarkston Area Optimist Club presents WinterFest 2024 in Clarkston Depot Park on February 3, 2024 from Noon to 3:00 pm.

The Optimist Club provides grants to schools and the community in the spring and the fall to further our mission of "Bring Out the Best in Kids" . This episode of "The Sunny Side" presents the recipients of the fall 2023 grants and their visions of how the grants will be used. We will visit them again after they have completed their projects to see the results.

This is the first "Kids Speak Out program presented by the Clarkston Area Optimist Club. The culminating event of the program was held at Sashabaw Middle School and hosted by the members of the Clarkston Junior High School Junior Optimist Club for orators from North Sashabaw Elementary School.

The bridge across the rain garden next to the Mill race in Depot Park is dedicated during an August 2023 Clarkston Area Optimist Club (CAOC) meeting. Funds for the bridge were provided by the CAOC and it was built by the students of the Clarkston Community Schools Construction Technology Program.

The process for receiving requests and choosing recipients for the Spring 2023 community grants is presented by Gary Bigger and the origin of the program is explained by Jim Evans.

Part 1 of the students of the Clarkston Community Schools Construction Technology program building a bridge at the entrance to the playground. The Clarkston Area Optimist Club provided funds for this endeavor. Another video will be produced for the remainder of the build.
