Bruni Music
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 มิ.ย. 2017
Bruni hails from Jorvik, the heart of Viking England. Playing original and traditional Nordic folk music, they blend haunting vocal harmonies with a variety of acoustic instruments. Harps, mandolins, recorders and lyres are all supported by percussion to help weave stories of the frozen north. Singing tales of elves, trolls, enchanters, mermaids and werewolves to drive away the cold of the night, and dances to get you up on your feet.
While the music and instruments might not be entirely authentic, our aim is to evoke the Viking and medieval rather than re-create and to whisk you away on a magical journey into foreign realms where magic still exists.

Behind the Scenes - Lyke Wake Dirge
มุมมอง 5128 วันที่ผ่านมา
A short behind the scenes video of some of the chaos and gothic glory of our latest video, filmed in the wonderful and windy Bridestones Moor. We couldn't fit all the insanity into a video, nor did we catch it all on camera, but enjoy this short behind the scenes video with Bruni. Many thanks to Tom Cole for coming along to help us with this project!

Sulla Lulla, a sweet and simple Norwegian lullaby with nonsense lyrics. We released a version as a single earlier in 2023, with an arrangement for three voices. This version is taken from our upcoming EP and is arranged and performed by all four of the Bruni singers. We hope you enjoy this gentle lullaby, and that it helps you find a moment of calm. Miri It Is

Miri It Is, another medieval song for winter. Merry it is while summer lasts And the birds sing, But now the wind does blow And the weather is strong. Oh, how this night is long, And I with much wrong. Sorrow and mourn and fast!

Our first seasonal Koselige Sang (cosy song) is one that Amie and Sarah have been performing together since they were at University. As with all the songs in this little set list, this was the first time we had played these pieces together as a quartet.
Var Det Du Eller Var Det Jag?

Something lighter for part 6 of the Koselige Sanger. This is a sweet little Swedish song with very simple lyrics: "Was it you or was it me, who danced so well? We danced, and we sang, we played and we tumbled. Oh come you beautiful young man, to the dance with me."

Knut Liten og Sølvelin, a traditional song from Norway, which sings a tale of love. Knut Liten takes Sølvelin as his lover after discussing his love for her to the King, Sølvelins father. The King does not realise Knut Litens intent until one of his courtiers spies on Sølvelin and steals Knut Litens shoes from her chambers. Outraged, the king sends all his men to fight Knut Liten. Heroically Kn...
Gröne Lunden

A sweet little Swedish song, recorded when we had the three of us in rehearsal - which is currently a rare day! For those of you who don't follow our facebook or instagram, we normally operate as a duo at the moment (Sarah & Amie), but have two other members who pop in when the chaos allows. Today we introduce Helen. TRANSLATION: Out in the green grove there danced a pair, The first was a frien...
Till Österland

A sweet little song, based on the poem of Anders Flöija and set to music by Sarah. A translation of the lyrics: I want to go to the east, There lives my dearest, Beyond mountains and deep valleys, All under so green a linden. My dearest she shall be Like wild roses in the forest, Like heaven's hundred swallows, Shall she sing my longing for rest. My heart, get ready The long way to go, Over mou...
Lussi Lilla
มุมมอง 142ปีที่แล้ว
For our third installment of the Koselige Sanger, we are playing a slightly more upbeat song from Sweden. Lussi Lilla is our heroine in this song. When she is being harassed by men in the kings court she goes to her brother for aid. He, being unsympathetic to her, tosses her a sword and says to defend herself... Which she does. Killing fifty of the kings courtiers. (50!) After this display of s...

Lovely singing and playing. Greetings from England. Thank you for sharing!
For those interested, here is the English translation of the lyrics: I dreamed a dream this night, Of silk and fine pelts. Wearing clothes so light and soft, In the rays of the sunset. -- now wake in the clear morning -- To the young group I went, I was drawn to the song and dance. I met his gaze comfortably And put my hand in his. -- now wake in the clear morning -- All the others looked at us, They smiled and they laughed. Soon all the dancing stopped, And only the two of us were dancing. -- now wake in the clear morning -- I dreamed a dream this night, Of silk and fine pelts. In the distance he waved with his hat, And my dream faded into grey. -- now wake in the clear morning -- (This is a poetic translation rather than a direct translation.)
Wonderful ! Thank you guys ❤😊
Beautiful ❤🔥 I read the description and understood that it's a story about love in a dream but can we have the lyrics in english please ?
I love this song. Good job
Jeg elsker det!
Love it!! 😍
Thank you! 😊
And thsnk you for having a drum that is actually tuned to the rest of the music. using drums that are mistuned is despicable. You have avoided my despise. Very nice recording .
Best version ever
Nope. Best version still remains that of Gjallarhorn.
I found you completely by accident through I Riden Så, and I'm glad I did.
This is lovely , very soft vocals and quite uplifting 🙂
Thank you :)
Ah, this is great!
Thank you :)
That sounds lovely as usual, and it's just what I needed to hear! I'm tired of living in cities, being locked down in one isn't very fun. I wish I could go camping this year like I always do, but it's not safe, so I'll have to be content imagining the little boat on the lake, I guess.
Beautiful
Nice melodic tunes,well played
Cat
What do the words mean, please?
