Ian McGeechan's final speech to the British Lions ahead of the third test (which the Lions won). Very emotional, the Lions will always matter.

Brilliant Geech What a man
We can see and feel a heart embedded with passion in things he dearly love to do..!! Absolute legend..👏👏👏🙏🙏
Passion Personified
Always reminds me of this Dumb & Dumber scene. Harry… aka Rowntree in this case - th-cam.com/video/1EzJU1Ks9NU/w-d-xo.html Sorry Geech’s. I still love you!!
Legend…….. love the passion
Unbelievable passion
Why is he crying?
Pathetic
Such a pathetic argument saying someone is a racist because they don't want to be swamp by illegal migrants typical leftie
rember' 97 sir McgeechanZZ?YOU would never have dreamt that the BOKS will take their revenge on your High and MIGHTY LION CUBS....what did you think...that the MIGHTY SPRINGBOK will lie down and be easy meat to your BRITISH CONCEITNESS???NO and stop crying like a snotnose wining baby that YOU ARE!#threeRWC"s
Ian McGeechan is about as for from 'high and mighty' as you can get. About as far from arrogant as you can get. He's a humble man who inspired others to be the best that they could be. Comments like yours have no place in our great sport.
When.people day that The Lions don't mean anything... Show them this...
He could have quite easily have gone 4-0 or 2-0-2 as a Lions coach. As it was, 2-2 was very special, considering he went against some incredible sides.
The most incredible teacher at FirTree Middle School in Leeds during the 80s, I was lucky enough to be coached by him and taught by him for a few years alongside Tony Biscombe. He tamed his Lions, his pack, to ensure that when they were uncaged, freed, they delivered and were one. An inspiring speaker, teacher, coach and man. Thank you Geech.
In my view Lions were always better than their opponents on motivation and hunger.
Takes a real man to show emotion for what he loves and lives for. Well done.
that s what rugby is about life or death
The man who saved the Lions
The way he gets his point across without raising his voice. Awesome speech.
what a legend
We lost the last test!
South Africa 9 Lions 28 - I assume you're a Bok
yeah ahah@@Cruithneach
Dry yer eye's ya wee blouse :)
Ian McGeechan is an inspiration and, what is evident from this video and the 1997 videos, a man who cares deeply about rugby and what it means as an expression of who we are--as people and players. There is a depth of feeling to this-- and reference the 1997 videos-- which is remarkable. It's inspiring, moving and respectful also to a great sport.
That was excellent. Love to see the emotion! i wish there was more footage of inspirational speeches from these top rugby teams
Cool lion vid, looking forward to seeing more...
Geech. Love you man!
All lions fans must just chill, yeah the speech was epic and all but the Boks still gave you a beat down. The third test was a dead rubber test.
"beat down" lol
What about 97 shit for brains
How can anyone denigrate that speech and the man behind it. A Great coach. 2 Lions Tours victories. Should've coached 2012.
Ahahahaha, so said mr keyboard warrior. Butthurt, much?
This what warren gatland will never understand, he doesnt understand the passion of the lions. And by the way how the hell do you send a new zealander to lead a north hemisphere group?
when you've done as much for the sport as him, you can comment. until then, fuck off
crybaby jock, never see an englishman crying like this
Joe Kupa Geech was born in Yorkshire you 🔔🔚
God is wonderful this is a great coach one of the best coaches I ever seen in history of sports...thumbs up
he was part of the squad, read on B&I site
dito correct
Phil Vickery was on the 2009 tour. He started the first and third Tests.
You are a proper geezer ain't ya !!!!
if we all put as much effort in to our everyday lives as McGeechan did with rugby the world would be a much better place...
He is crying because he feels as if he has let everyone down, the lions had already lost the series prior to this match, he has a large history with the team, and has also played with them before, playing for the lions is the maximum honour any british or irish rugby players can get, his passion is incredible he is a true legend in the game.
Wrong. The Lions won the first two Tests. His speech was based on whether they could win 3-0. They lost the final Test 35-16 however, but still won the series
@@Northerner1966I think you are thinking of 1997, this video is from the 2009 tour, so he was right.
I accidentally posted the comment before it was finished...twice, so I removed them. Clumsy. Plus I think by commenting on a video of a well respected man making a moving speech and stating that his display of emotion is 'pathetic' is most definitely trolling. I still don't understand why his 'post speech antics' bother you so much. But as your case is rested I guess I'll never know. In the words of Mungop389; "fuuck of you shitkunt"
PASSION!
Legend
Erm the angry one is clearly you! While I respect his achievements and his standing in the game I am not impressed with his post speech antics. What has already happened is your first two comments were removed due to nature of them and your third has been flagged as spam. I don't need to reduce myself to trolling, I clearly made an observation and if it upset people then so be. It doesn't hurt my feelings if people are offended by what I think. Reply all you like as I rest my case.
That's not a reason to cry like he lost his mother before the speech! Don't tell me because he achieved a lot it gives him the right to cry outrageously about it. Stand by what I said...PATHETIC
You're an ignoramus mate.
"*Brittish Lions" How pathetic.
This is pathetic and cringing to watch. Its a man's game so man up and stop crying like a child
@jimmymufc58 Think you summed it up there. These guys have get all set play, defensive patterns sorted out. Also these lads have just finished a tough season in the Northern Hemisphere.
Respect Jimmy
i often read or hear comments by all blacks, boks and aussie that they nearly always beat the lions when they play them in the tests and often a few nasty comments come their way, let me just remind southern hem fans that the lions, travel to your own countries, play infront of hostile home support against sides that have played together often for many years, the lions meet up just 2 weeks before the tour once every 4 yr, so they do well to compete against your nations.with such mimimal prep.
