Great video, very informative and to the point without a lot of rambling. Thank you.
Is the 4-post bolted to concrete. Mine is not… concerned winching might drag lift toward car instead of pulling car in and up … 68 Camaro. Thoughts
This 4-post was not bolted to the ground. It shouldn't move your 4-post if you run the winch slowly. It's best to have a spotter. Possibly the Backyard Buddy Classic you might need to be concerned about it moving a little because it's pretty small, but the Advantage Lifts are much heavier. Not sure which lift you have, but you should be fine without bolting.
Hey guys! I talked to yall at mecum Kissimmee. We are very interested in a 4 post

How much does each runway weigh?
They are 500 to 600lbs each.
50 seconds in, dude says the XLT has a smaller footprint than the HD... Don't think thats correct...
The XLT and the HD have the same footprint. I think he just misspoke.
Do you ship / sell in Canada?

Wow
Just put my lift up, I was very impressed how easy it was to put by myself with a little help from the tractor, just watched a few videos and it was done !
And are the? Vantage lifts still made in china
The Advantage line is engineered in the US and assembled in China. The Backyard Buddy line is assembled in the US!
@@advantage_lifts Time to bring everything back home
What? Is the cost of the nine thousand pound 4 post lifts
$5,995 for the HD-9000 4-Post
That Starliner looks like a sweet ride!
How good are your lifts if i use it under a canopy outside in Texas ? How does it hold up to moisture while being outside under a carport ? thanks
Using a lift under a carport is fine. We recommend you keep the power unit out of the sun and rain for sure, by covering it up somehow. If the carport has side panels that would be preferable.
@advantage_lifts Yes it has sides, thank you
Sticking those shims under it doesn't allow the base plate to distribute the weight evenly. You end up with a big load on a relatively small area. I would think this could potentially cause concrete failure.. I think I could design a better way of adjusting the columns plumb without shimming the base plate off the floor.
We've never encountered a problem when shimming small amounts. If your floor is very uneven and you are using a large amount of shims, it's recommended to grout underneath the post. If you feel like there's a better way, we'd be interested in hearing it.
i love how the guy says that the bolt and nut style is crap on the lock bars from other companies that is why we use these and then to hook up to the bars to the center release rod he has to use the crap style he just made fun of 🤣
I figured there would be some sort of step by step or at least some subtitles on what steps to take installing this but I guess not?
We have an instructional video for the SF10, which is the smaller version of our floor plate model. You can see it here.... th-cam.com/video/obTO1-AW7Ww/w-d-xo.html
Great lifts and great customer service
Thank you kindly!
4:40 I need every inch of the J-track because my truck is so long I can't reach the jacking points. Actually, I kinda wish the J-track ran all the way the cross beam....for my application anyway. So, for some applications these stops are ok.
Does the post by the wall have spacers under it to get it level with the other post? Is that safe to do and was longer anchor bolts used?
They did use a lot of spacers. Good catch!! The ALS crew had to go back to grout underneath the lift. That's the recommended method if the floor is extremely unlevel. The anchor bolts that were used were the usual size. They're long enough to have some room and still utilize the 4 inches of required concrete depth. I'm sure there have been situations where ALS has had to go get longer anchor bolts though.
@ my floor is a half inch off from one post to the other, would it be fine if I made a steel plate the same size as the foot pad instead of spacers and grout?
@@hayworthfarmandadventures If it's only a half inch off using the spacers would be fine without needing to grout. I would think the steel plate would also work, as they would serve the same purpose as the spacers. It's just you won't really know till you get the posts positioned and start anchoring and using your level to figure out which way you need to adjust your post, if that makes sense. We recommend using the spacers because you can keep adding them where they're needed till you have your posts level.
@ do you sell the spacers?
@@hayworthfarmandadventures There are about a dozen included with our 2-post lifts in the parts box!
Where is this lift made?
Our Advantage lifts come from overseas. The Backyard Buddy 4-post lifts are assembled in the US!
Hi Tony, I watched you install Faye Hadley's DX-9000-HD, and then viewed your web site. You also sell Backyard Buddy lifts. Which is better? The Backyard Buddy lifts cost more but have a lower weight limit.
Tony doesn't read these, but I can help you out! I'd suggest you watch the video we made highlighting the differences between Backyard Buddy and Advantage Lifts. Hopefully that will help you decide which one suits your needs. If you still have questions after you watch, feel free to call our lift experts. They can guide you through the decision making process. th-cam.com/video/VuZp_4KMUo8/w-d-xo.html 1-763-300-5730
Really appreciate this video. Helped me install this jack onto my lift by myself. Awesome. So glad you took the time to make it.
Awesome, thank you for the reply.
Dislike for waving your finger
Two post lift lets you service brakes and other things much better.
Hello
What is min ceiling height required?
It depends on the vehicles you would have on the top but 18 feet should give you plenty of room.
Might wanna explain the upper release lever needs to be pulled when the lift is lowering from any height where the locks might engage or youll have someone lower a car onto the locks and not know what to do then lol. The upper and lower levers are both actuated to bring the vehicle all the way down. You can only use the lower lever by itself if the vehicle hasnt engaged any of the locks on the lift. Youll hear metal latches clicking when the lift moves past the locks i talk about.
Sounds like he talks from experience about refilling the oil
I hope that's not intended to be the final placement for that electrical cable. But that's my only big concern here
Very good explanation. Thank you.
You're quite welcome! Glad you liked it.
Wonderful ❤❤❤
Great video! Thanks for explaining everything in detail! One thing I'd like to clarify as a mechanical engineer is your fastening of the concrete bolts with 100ftlbs. There is no technical reason why you would check this with a lower torque setting (only 70 ftlbs)! Mark the bolt heads with a paint maker on the baseplate and note if they have moved (anti-clockwise). THEN you've got a valid reason to re-tighten them..
If you are a mechanical engineer you would know that checking again later after use is NOT because they maybe backing out. You can mark the heads, but that isn’t the point. You recheck them because after use, the concrete in the holes can break down, the concrete could have been bad quality or not cured correctly. There could have been a void or anything else under the slab. You check it and retorque it to expand the anchors again into the concrete and double check they are still holding. There have been cases where after a few months or even a year or two, the anchor is not gripping anymore. It’s not a regular nut and bolt and there is not enough vibration on the base to make them loosen to move that a mark on the nut would indicate anything.
Did not address foundations requirements two post vs. four post, also
You don't need to worry about your foundation for a 4-post (unless you're in California). They aren't bolted into the concrete. We have another video that discusses at length, how to figure out if your floor is safe enough for a 2-post... th-cam.com/video/PFKZKje3b0Y/w-d-xo.html
can you all do a video on the 12k 2 post no one has info on them.
We don't have a step by step instructional video for the 12k 2-posts. We did shoot an install recently for the AL-12C... th-cam.com/video/aa28_cqAPVg/w-d-xo.html If you have any other specific questions feel free to call our lift experts after 9am EST... 763-300-5730
I have the 9000 lift. Bought it about 5 years ago. This is in my opinion the best lift on the market. What I really like about these units is how the 4 post encapsulates the lift. Also easy to setup with a friend. I love mine.
do you guys also supply the hydraulic oil with the lift? Do you want the end pieces back? if so how would someone return those? thank you
The hydraulic oil is included if you schedule an install with us. If you're DIY, you'll have to purchase a 5 gallon bucket. Those end brackets don't need to be returned. You can recycle them, use them, or throw them out.
@@advantage_lifts Thank you, I am sold on Advantage Lifts. I saw them in Carlisle and spoke at Length with Kyle. I plan on purchasing a lift in the spring.
Whoooaaaa minute 11:43 you can't say that. 😂😅 I'm kidding amazing video I like your company. I'm currently doing research on different brands. So far I like your boxed 4 post design and no holes driled on the runs of your 9k 4 post lift. And that it could be trolleyed aroumd that is amazing. I spoke to a gentleman yesterday, for measurements. I'll hopefully be calling you guys soon.
The manual states up to 3 degrees of slope is max allowable on the floor. If you had that much slope, are the cables long enough and post slots of such spacing to accommodate that much slope? I have a floor that is out near 1 deg. from a high corner and am concerned the post slots will not line up sufficient to get all the safety locks firing simultaneously. Excellent video that makes a difference in us DIYers decision making. Thank you
I asked one of our lift experts here and he said that your lift will be fine with your stated slope degree.
@@advantage_lifts Thanks, I would appreciate a little more detail rather than buying on faith you are correct. A discussion with Tony Weber is preferable. Is that possible? I am looking at a $8 or $9K purchase, a lot of $$ for me.
@@gkk2001 Feel free to call in to the office to talk to one of our lift experts. They're here 9am to 6pm every weekday. 1-763-300-5730
When you ship... Do I need to take it off the truck or will the delivery service take it off the truck?
We ship for free to a local (to you) trucking terminal. You would need a trailer for it to be loaded onto. We do offer delivery to many places on the East Coast, where you wouldn't need a trailer or anything to unload. There is a fee involved with that service. We also offer installation in those same "White Glove" service areas. You can give our lift experts a call and they can help you out with whatever your desire or need is! 763-300-5730
i wanna sign up for baileys lift lessons
It's actually Abe's Lift Lessons now and I am taking sign ups ;)
I don't think this guy was looking for lift lessons with abe@@advantage_lifts
Are the current advantage lifts different that you have to call the older ones legacy?
There are some slight design differences (like the cylinder design) between the current Advantage Lifts and the "Legacy" versions, but overall the installation process is the same.
Very Cool Feature
I use two of the aluminum panels and drive my riding mower, four wheeler, or golf cart on from the side. I can slide the panel out of the way and work on the underside. I can also drop the mowing deck on a panel and slide it out from under the tractor.
Very informative! Thanks for posting!
Well I can dream. Maybe one day I can get one if these. They look like the best built on the market.
Hey there! We run deals pretty regularly on lifts, so keep an eye on our socials. We're actually running $2,000 off any Backyard Buddy which ends today! Give us a call at 763-300-5730 with any questions.
These sure do look identical to Wild Fire Lifts other then The runway color @Advantage Lifts
That's because Wildfire took the Advantage design and slapped their name on it when they started their company. Advantage and Backyard Buddy have ALI certified lifts and Wildfire has none. That tells you all you need to know about about the quality of the lifts and the dedication to safety of Advantage vs Wildfire.
@@advantage_liftsdo you have a Article page for the Lawsuit information if your design was stolen then there should be Lawsuit information
Just look which company started first.
@@advantage_lifts that's why I asked if you had a web page for lawsuit information
Whats the 1/2 cable rating is it pre Stretched or Non pre Stretched @Advantage Lifts
The cables are not pre-stretched. There's no need to pre-stretch them because they're spun and meant to stretch during use. The 1/2 inch cables are rated for 22,000 lbs PER cable.
What can I do if I don’t have 12 feet clearance for the lock rod?
