First time you change your own brake pads you'll make back more than the cost of the few tools you will need to do the job. Or just borrow them.. Penny wise, pound foolish springs to mind if your brakes are like this

I literally drove the breaks off my car, when they went to change out my brakes, it fell apart. so i would definitely agree, you hear a noise, time for a service. unless you like character development of the clenching kind.

This is why people who don't know how cars work should only buy cars with extended free basic maintenance, or buy it from a 3rd party and then use it. Perhaps drivers should be required to pass a basic auto maintenance test and if they refuse or fail not be allowed to own a car if they don't have or purchase such a plan and prove that they use it with regular inspections. Service stations would love this.

Thats just crazy as hell! That car had to be making a loud grinding noise and shouldve been checked on much sooner.

The way I see it if you can’t keep up with basic maintenance on a car then you don’t deserve to have a car long term It’s really not that hard to up keep a car to get the most life out of it

Hello sir. I greatly enjoyed this video and all of your other ones. I am highly considering the mobile mechanic route but I need a bit more training in the mechanics field first. Prior to the TH-cam shorts videos, I didn’t even know such a profession existed. I used to just go to the shop. And although I do have some mechanical acumen now, my previous lack of knowledge ended up costing me lots of money, time, and vehicles that still needed to be repaired. As a Brother who is also seeking more light (nice tie by the way /G\), do you have any recommendations as to what classes would make me a better diagnostician? I can fix things with little problem but I want and need to learn how to diagnose the problem first. Again, thank you and continue to shine more light to the brethren. -a Brother /G\ from NJ.

Did you test the results against the fancy screen/tester behind it (or against some other professional tester)? Would be nice to see a side by side comparison!

That’s astonishing. What is the most amazing is that the car has been driven 100s (or maybe 1000s) of miles in that condition. It must have screamed every time the brakes were used.
