Thank you for posting this. I’d been advised to only consume soy in moderation, but was still “afraid” of it and avoided it as much as possible. I’ve recently begun consuming tofu a little more regularly and was a little nervous about it, especially since I’m no longer on endocrine therapy. I have a degree in biochemistry, and about half a Masters in nutrition (left the program, ironically, to care for my mother when she was dxd), but this specific information about alpha and beta receptors with regard to endogenous estrogens vs phytoestrogens didn’t come up…as far as I can remember. This was before my own dx. So thank you again for what’s either a refresher or additional information 😂. Regardless, I feel more confident now.

Why can't they give you AI medicine without surgery?

I had DCIS and after surgery the biopsy showed a micro invasion. The DCIS and micro invasion were VERY small. I had two surgeries (lumpectomy and node), short course radiation and I started tamoxifen.. four weeks later I had bloodwork done…it showed I was now diabetic (despite a low carb diet), my thyroid numbers were seriously changed from a year ago and I had other issues. Upon further research I found that older women have a 20% increased chance of diabetes due to tamoxifen. I stopped taking that poison and will not take it! I’m so freaking angry….

It’s upsetting that many people are told they have DCiS and yet after their surgery it comes back as Invasive Ductal Cell Carcinoma. Maybe they shouldn’t say anything . The change in results is not fair to the patient , dealing with stress already .

I have DCIS with a very small part of the tumor biopsy was her 2 + .I have started radiation and was offered chemo.But both the oncologist said he wouldn't take it and the radiologist said no also . Is this the right thing to do?
