I was a teenager when all these beatiful aircraft were appearing in our sky's. I made so many kits of them that filled my room. Went down from Scotland for a holiday in London staying with my brother so I could visit Heathrow and see them all. 1967, the music and fashion was breaking out too ! Best days of my life. Great video spookytwister. My favourite aircraft, BOAC VC 10.

Had my wog day in 90. Was not far from this. There were a few that would swing for the cheap seats with the fire hoses but it was mostly a good time

I heard of this from a "Shellback".... He said hose hoses were not so kind,, not like the gentle action in front of the camera.... And at the end they got to have their beers, and all were "shellback's"..... ... Question though,,, was this suspended during WW2?

Os tempos e séculos vão se passando e a gente custa a perceber ! Só sinto falta da elegância daquela época ! Até os brotos eram mais bonitas porque tinham pelo menos a virtude da inexperiência ! Saudades...

Melhor época do Rio foi nos anos 1950/1960, tempos da Bossa Nova de Tom, Vinicius e outros gigantes, que fizeram musicas que retratavam os encantos da cidade e era admirada no mundo todo e logicamente sem esquecer o Carnaval. Valeu!

No finalzinho do video aparece o prédio do Centro Comercial Copacabana e a Galeria Menescal, que existem até hoje em Copacabana.

habe noch lebhafte Erinnerungen an damals. Großmutter wohnte in Charlottenburg, große Altbauwohnung bei kleiner Rente (heute ist sie unbezahlbar und Eigentum, ca. 1 Milllion wert). Was ich in Erinnerung habe: Das Pfff-Geräusch der S-Bahnen, den typischen Geruch der U-Bahn, das Doppel-Geräusch beim Schließen der Türen der Doppeldeckerbusse. Und die Mauer, obwohl ich das damals nicht richtig verstand, warum es sie überhaupt gab. Großvater, der von der Front erzählte (vom 1. Weltkrieg!). Sommerabende in der Gartenlaube in Wannsee mit Weiße mit Schuss. Nicht alles war damals besser als heute, und doch überkommt mich bei Anschauen dieses Videos ein beklemmendes und trauriges Gefühl und die leise Ahnung, es wird vielleicht doch besser gewesen sein könnte, damals 25 zu sein als heute. Vor allem denke ich: Was haben die Nachgeborenen doch aus Berlin gemacht - die lächerlichste Stadt Europas.
