That's it? I can do that on my road king😅
Hi! which pickup to replace Gibson 57 in my Gibson Es 165 archtop? or would harness upgrade be enough to get clarity and great note separation? thanks!
Some people cannot hear a difference, i built passive loudspeakers for years, x-over capacitors are critical if wanting the best sound quality, passive electronics like a guitar or bass, i play bass, mostly Fenders, after 45+ years Polypropylene hi-fi grade caps (5% tolerance) along with a 4K7 1% resistor, Greasbucket tone control set-up, 2 caps & a resistor.....sounds fantastic to my ears,a tiny difference but it is a personal taste thing...most people could not hear the difference between a 5p ceramic disc cap at 20+% tolerance & a Muondorf Polypropylene, i can just in a studio, on stage nobody would hear much difference unless extreme values imo ...well demo'd, even if i play bass mostly....👍
Figured out the hard way about the Amazon vm22 using the Keihin pilot jets which are 3J jets btw if anyone is looking for them. #38-#40 work pretty good on Gx200 type engines.
Some come drilled for a keihin pilot. I’ve been exchanging those. Good to know the style thank you.
For some reason, after 55 years of playing, I’ve just tried this idea out (before I watched this video). It worked Really Well. All that would be needed, is to get a heavier than normal set of strings.
That’s awesome!
Just bought a used Les Paul with the KA 57’s. Shocked how good they are. Will consider them for other guitars i have.
I’m a fan!
Jut got a 24 xr650L. Modifying it for a long haul PanAm cruiser. Great info herr! Think I will die it a bit before I modify the sprockets. Thanks for the vid.
Enjoy that bike! Let’s get together and ride
@@techjimmi 👍
This is the only demo of these tones anywhere on the interwebs! GLORIOUS!!!
Thank you!
Excelente!
Thank you so much
Wrong, hit all puddles 5th tapped
Let me know how that works out for you.
Vet track at pax is fun. Big track is for real...don't dual sport it. Lol.
I looked at the big track…. From the seat of my dual sport…. From the parking lot.
average trail rider on a track😭
@Moss-34 At least he is riding. Any one on a bike is good for the sport and if it’s good for the sport then it’s alright 👍
I was waiting for you. There is always one hater… Congratulations you are the first one. Are you proud of yourself?
@@techjimmi yes, also who said i was hating gang 😭😭
Take a look at Fast Guys Slow Bikes, he races a XR650L, XR600, XR650R, and a few others.
I sub to his channel. Very good content. It’s fun to watch OUR bikes ridden fast.
That’s a very powerful bike 😂
It’s a 650 but it’s very underpowered compared to a modern 450.
@@techjimmi Very true but for an enfuro bike she’s all there and some lol. I was young when my step dad got rid of his but I always remembered it being a beast. 👌🏼
Nice job man!
Thanks! It was fun.
I am going to do the opposite: use a vintage-style wire instead of a 4-conductor one.
Do whatever you want. There is no wrong answer.
I also went to Chadwick, Missouri and Rode the xr650 there that’s a tough place to ride. You don’t take a beginner there. I was proud of myself that I was able to get around on the big red pig like I did. There was 56.
Chadwick is TOUGH!
There’s a falling out ride XR 650 LS on motocross tracks and race them when I first got mine in about six years ago I researched it surprisingly a lot on track for years. Our friend invited me to go with him to a vintage motocross race and that’s my bike I had to ride so I rode in the trail beginners class bike beginners classon 650. It was a bit much for that so I wrote his XR 250 but later in the year I did ride 650 at another vintage race and just fine and one more with it before I got different.
My friend did ride it practicing and he’s a good motocross writer and he jumped the jumps with it sent it and came back and asked him how it was and he said the pension was great

Hey its Joe pasquini good to see ur doing good
Good to hear from you. Thanks for checking out my channel.
I used to moto my 1986 XR600R at Star West SX Track in Perris Ca. back in the early 1990's. It was not great in the woops. LOL
The 650L is also not great in the whoops… and neither am I.
Dude starwest was BEAST... It was the only actual supercross Trask you could ride on. Braaaaaaap
@@techjimmistop squaring off your berms. Trust the bike, it's not gonna stall, shift up a gear or at least let it chug don't don't stop with the clutch then take off again. It's slow and loses control, start cornering earlier and slower then accelerating out harder. Good luck
@@SHAGG13 That's a fact! Miss all of that.
in all honesty, a lot of these shots were performed just for the camera. I squared off that berm like 6 times in a row. Im an old enduro rider. I’m not a motocross rider, nor will I ever be. This was just celebrating monetization. Thanks for hanging out!
That track looks fantastic!! The dirt looks like a dream
It is a DREAM! I love this track.
The shine on the top of your head made me hrny
I add a light just to make it shine more.
You are wrong! You don't need to change the chain in 48/14. On the contrary, the distance between the axles is the same as in 15/45, which comes original on the bike. The XR600 comes from the factory with 14/48 and they share the same swingarm and the same anchoring points on the chassis and in both, the motorcycle comes with a 110 link chain and the chain adjusters remain in the same adjusting point.
Then why didn’t the chain fit when I tried it? You don’t think I tried when I made this video? 😂🤣
14/45 eats the swingarm slider faster and extends the wheelbase.
The slider does get chewed up very fast.
Lmao 😂
This loser is still accepting orders but not shipping goods. Makes up stories when you call him. Finally refunds money after credit card dispute runs its course. What a crappy way to run a business.
Straight up u need a lower final drive if this is ur normal road. Yes this works. But it's a bandaid. Your first gear should be low enough that you don't ever need to ride your clutch. For safe operation. When you need to ride your clutch to control your vehicle you have too high of a gear.
Watch our sprocket video. This bike is a dual sport and needs to hit 90mph. You’ll understand my choice. th-cam.com/video/uIelftZRhzY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8CqQkC9iPO8FhESm
@techjimmi i get that. Ur bike should have a granny gear though. So u can keep your normal gearing but keep a low gear just for things like this
@@arockdino8445 You need to learn to slip the clutch
@techjimmi already know it. But one needs a lower gear if doing regularly
@@arockdino8445 That's not this bike's job....it's a dual sport.
Isn’t it better not to use the front brake. Not compressing the front suspension will give you more control.
With a little compression on the front the bike stays tighter and under more control.
Orange drop caps make my Les Paul sound like a strat and the gain on my tube amp sound solid state. PIO for me
That makes sense 🤷🏻♂️
why?😂
Cool trick
Can somebody please enlighten me as to what is the point?
Fine control of power output to wheels
Slipping the clutch gives you more control over the power output. You want to use the rear brake to keep tension on the chain and regulate the speed. The way I learned it is give a bit of throttle (2000 rpm), hold the clutch slipping (keep this all steady), and touch the rear brake and regulate the speed with the rear brake as well. This gives you very fine control over the motorcycle. Using the front brake as well seems kinda pointless to me, though.
@Pietje900 maybe keep the disc clean and dry ?
Get a life and a 400 tire
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
Y
Now I just want to go riding
My first dirt bike accident was caused by hitting the back break, front break and clutch... All at 100% ALL AT ONCE, while doing like 35/40 mph... It was my first time on two wheels going that quick AND IT WAS AWESOME ive been hooked ever since... 7 bikes later ive got a daughter of my own and been teaching her to ride.... Hopefully not like me 😅
Inspirational.
@@alvinmodz my last name is Shoemaker... So for the longest time my dad used to call it"The Shoemaker Shuffle" 🤣
you didn't talk about the 2 rim locks ,,, that's the fun part
The XR650L has no rim locks.
Would the results be comparable for basses?
Results, yes numerical values, no. Experiment. Basses like 1 Meg pots sometimes.
There are a whole lot dudes usuing flat slide carbs on the 650L who seem to be quite happy with them.
I think that may be coming in a future video. Comment if you’d like to see it.
GLORIOUS!!!
Thank you!
Our good friends in China.
Friends
Yeah, anything coming out of China is pure garbage, all they do is steal Intellectual property and make terrible versions of it
Ali Express sellers aren’t hiding the fact that they’re selling knock-offs. All things considered, these copies are very well made. What keeps the cost low are the cheap electronics, and slight defects in the neck and body. I’ve bought a few bass guitars from China and customized them so that when it’s all done, for about $500 total I can have a $3,000 bass. You also get to ask questions and see the progress of the guitar copy being made. The Chinese people who make these are very nice people. It just is what it is. I do own a real Fender fretless Jazz bass, and it’s higher quality in some ways, but I still had to do some major work on it to get it right. When it matters by all means buy a name brand, but the Chinese are doing us a lovely service by giving us playable wall hangers, and upgradeable dream guitar projects.
That’s one way to look at it….. another would be that all China guitars are made of cheese and life is too short to play knock off guitars.
It is still True to say if you pay Peanuts you get Monkey business
Agreed.
