Keep some parts for yourself!! Like color choices, DIY projects, etc. Let those be yours to do so you have an active role in the wedding planning! You don’t have to hire someone for every little thing then wait a year or more while you just do nothing. You can choose a few things to keep you busy. A cricut machine can be a nice way to see your progress on personalized stuff/fun items in real time. Having physical results of those projects has helped me to manage the anxiety.

It’s not just you. My fiancé is Asian American (viet) and wasn’t raised in a traditional viet household. I’m white and was raised by southern Baptist stay at home moms. Our wedding will be very traditional (American wedding traditions) and not huge. Everyone has known from the beginning that it won’t be a viet wedding and won’t have more than 125 guests. They all told us to not stress, enjoy our engagement time, do what we truly wanted, it’s our day not anyone else’s, etc. No one wanted to help us do the dirty work with planning or PAYING!! We are financing it all ourselves so obviously we went with the cheaper vendors. But a few months later they’re up our butts trying to change our decisions and getting upset over the smallest things. I’ve told them, and will keep telling them, beggars can’t be choosers. They are guests, not hosts and they didn’t put a dime or ounce of effort into planning anything. So they can attend or stay home, we’ll be there having fun either way. Plan it for yourself and when people try to criticize, ask them where they were to help when you needed guidance. They’ll shut up quickly.

돈 많으면 유학 가는 거 진짜 부럽다... 친척 중에서도 금수저 있는데 자식이 3명인데 초등학생때부터 셋 다 미국 갔는데 ㅜㅜ 대학교에서 힘들긴하겠지만 중고등학교도 미국에서 나온거 부러움... 근데 또 유학생들만의 힘듦도 많겠죠
