A group of Blue Angels F-35's in formation? How awesome would THAT be!!

Great question! This is done on purpose to show the maneuverability of the aircraft and the skills of the pilots, as it's hard to fly slow, with landing gear down due to the drag and instability. Let alone fly in a close formation like that!

I understand why you might think that. I would encourage you to look into the Blue Angels. Along with the performances, this provides intense training and teamwork practice for our nation's best pilots. They are there for 2 years and then go back to active service. That's really what the program is about, in my opinion.

@@safehavenambiance I've seen them fly out here at Fox airfield in the Antelope Valley. But you're kinda proving my point... what I'm saying is, when they crash into each other or hit the ground (which... both happen on occasion) it makes me wonder how much more those people could have been doing than what amounts to stunt acrobatics for "oohs" and "aahs". It's not that they aren't skilled, but is any of that actually worth a death? You don't even fly that close to each other in combat , it seems to be needlessly putting people in undue danger for the sake of ego and bragging rights. I don't see the point in it.

@@safehavenambiance Aw shucks! Gotta love waterfalls, we don’t have a whole lot of them out here in Arizona. There’s a few small ones where the boys and I went backpacking recently. West Fork in Sedona, go ahead and google that one!
