Theatres Trust
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 มิ.ย. 2009
We are the national advisory public body for theatres. We champion the past, present and future of live theatre, by protecting the buildings and what goes on inside.
We do this through providing advice on planning and development, supplying resources and advice to make theatres sustainable and offering financial assistance through grants.
We help people discover more about theatres and campaign for theatres at risk.

SHAME on Scarborough Council of 2018, to sign off this beautiful and strong building to be demolished. Fucking disgusting.
It's up for sale now so hopefully it'll get the love it needs
Myself and a team surveyed the Grand inside two days ago and its not in a very good shape now in some parts due to water ingress.some parts are lethal. But help could be on the way soon!
Nice Video I will be visiting The Grand very soon in early 2023 and I dont know what will be happening but I believe its future is looking more positive!
thank you for drawing attention to this importance issue, theatres at risk!!!
Such a wonderful building, so much could be obtained from this building as in the past, bring the theatre back to the life it deserves not destroyed forever as many other beautiful buildings in Doncaster. Are there any walks, tours that are availble to be able to take photograghs of the theatre before the old decoration would be changed.
I love the elephant connection. This has been boarded up as long as I can remember such a shame.
Doncaster is behind everywhere
Please please please keep this theatre make it a museum like the girls school at waterdale we should glass up the old buildings and history locations so they are glassed up and the structure and safe. I really would love to see the inside of this historical theatre one day. What if the shop inside frenchgate thats above the theatre turned into an entrance to the museum and a glass view of the trainstation also a floor glass view to look down the theatre also you can take a row off seats away and glass the top floor seat so you can sit on the top and look down get the lighting in and make it look magical
I learnt to swim there in the 50's went most Saturdays. When I was older I used the Turkish Baths which are the tiled room you visited later in the video, they are located in the basement. It's a listed building as you know and should be reinstated by the council. Harrogate opened its Spa including its turkish baths and is making a nice profit. Kids need excersise so a swimming pool rather than a cinema would have been great for them. Doncaster Council need to make getting this building back to its former glory as a PRIORITY.!!
fantastic building that needs to be saved! its amazing its lasted this long without being set on fire. this should have been turned back into a theatre before the new one that the council have had built. i also won't be going to the new cinema that is being built as they knocked down a perfectly fine listed, Gaumont! doncaster council should be hung in public!
Wow its 2019 and they still haven't done anything to it. By the way my grandfather is that picture you shown
Shame on the council, as you say they can always find money for unnessessary rubbish projects ... just think amongst other things , a wonderful Family Pantomime at Christmas !
Check my channel if you want to see what it looks like inside now ;)
Finally we get to see inside Any follow ups coming ?
So what's happening to it now?
Its still standing to this day. But its abandoned and i have personally been into the Theatre and its quite amazing inside but its very risky but it was good to be inside it and see what it was ect
@@LesTheDroneMan How'd you get in?
Such a shame that Burnley Borough Council cannot offer more support in terms if finance but can always find more money for other projects such as round concrete balls in the pedestrian walkway.
Thanks
I have been in it
I pass by here everyday on my way to college and constantly dream about being able to see it on the inside, keep it up so that dream can come to fruition
DESTRUCTIVE FORCES OF SBC - SHAME ON YOU!!!
when the cinema in kdy closed I was glad it was a shite hole anyway and it was always dirty and had a musky smell to it
@sbowesuk kirkcaldy is a shit hole and the high Street has always been an eyesore the only good thing about kirkcaldy was the links Market and even that now is garbage so if kirkcaldy town centre was to shut down completely then I wouldn't give two fucks! I only lived there I was born in Fife the two shops that will guaranteed to never close is the job centre and pharmacy's for all the dole bums and junkies that live in the dump!
i climbed it haha
kirk-aw-dy Dara!
