The 4th ballad of Chopin is considered as one of the most challenging of his works. Since I am not a professional pianist nor skilled enough to play the whole piece, in this video I merely play the first 4 minutes. Who knows what the future holds.

Can Beginners Compose a Piano Etude?

We both tried to compose an etude without any help or experience. The idea was to start with C minor, F minor, and G major/ minor arpeggios and from there onwards try out different melodies and chord progressions. Guus has three years of piano playing experience and Cedric has 10 years but none of us have had proper composing classes. We would like to thank Cedric for the editing of this video....

This is too perfect. I'd love to believe this was genuine but this level of recording just isn't possible in this environment. He knows the piece but the sound is not from this performance.

Great job! In Eihdhoven you are better off with public piano if you head to the Bijenkoft cafe. De Bijenkoft is just 2 minutes walk from the train station and the cafe is on the last floor. The cafes has Boston grand, which somewhat out of tune yet still a cut above the worn out instrument at the train station.

@@ContentPiano sometimes the cafe personnel might remove the piano bench to prevent nasty children banging the piano keys, just kindly ask the stuff for it, they are always extremely helpful in this cafe.
