Ok here is my opinion on this cover. First, the vocal is too low. You need to increase the volume on the voice. It's hard to hear the voice. Use a CLA VST plugin to help your voice cut through the mix. Also, the vocal has to go up during certain parts and low at other parts by changing the volume manually in certain parts so that the other instruments do not drown out the voice during the chorus parts. The bass guitar volume was too low and the drum level a tiny bit too high. Go a little easier on the sound compression during editing because the bass guitar sounds drowned out. That is usually because of too much compression on the guitar. Send the bass compression to a separate bus and then the bus to the master track. and get rid of those low end rumblings the bass guitar has. It just sounds too muddy. As far as the drums, the high frequency for the cymbals need to be notched down a little around 5k on your DAW and lower the drums volume about 2 Db because it's very high. You want everything to sound around the same level with the vocals slightly higher than everything else. I hope these suggestions help you. Cheers from New York City, USA.
