Really liked this when I first heard it. Listened to it a lot for about a month. Learnd to play a few tracks off it. Years later when when I went back to it I was like: "Holy, the levels are completely blown out through the whole album and it's kind of hurts my ears". Not sure how I didn't notice it the first 50 times I listened to it.

A very enjoyable album but she was in her "sellout" era for this one and despite it's moments of brilliance, it's considered mediocre by her standards. The rest of her work is much more compelling so I can't wait for you to discover the older albums!

The most important album in my life. I thought it was good on my first listen. Then I tripped on potent mushroom tea and listened to it again, then it changed me. I heard everything in the harmonies and the music. Brian Wilson was ahead of his time and cements himself as one of the greatest composer/producers of all time. Check out the Smile Sessions to see where he wanted to expand on his sound.
