WA Builds a Stronger Mental Health Workforce: Introducing the Behavioral Health Support Specialist
Presented by: Bill O’Connell, EdD (UW Psychiatry) and Ursula Heflick (Spokane Falls Community College)
The mental and behavioral health workforce shortage has hindered access to care in the United States, resulting in long waitlists for persons who need behavioral health care. Bachelor level practitioners are one solution to increasing available mental and behavioral health treatment across a variety of settings. A Behavioral Health Support Specialist (BHSS) will provide brief treatment for depression using behavioral activation, anxiety using CBT and engage in harm reduction for substance use issues. This webinar highlights an innovative effort in Washington State to initiate a bachelor’s-level BHSS curriculum leading to credentialing to expand the mental health workforce and improve access to care.

No need to change addicts they just need better doctors. Make better drugs and give people what they want. Also what druggy doesn't know how to beat any test.
We need scientist to create a oxy like pill that's long acting like this and doesn't wean into tolerance. One that's not gonna need to be abused or increased. Nothing wrong with being high or relieving pain and feeling good to. There's no cognitive reduction on opioids. Make dope safer. Getting high isn't a problem until the tolerance and money come into play. Drugs aren't the problem people are. I'm sure the super rich can get straight dopamine to take but they probable don't need a boost but every now and then. Their lives aren't that bad.

I personally (due to family) know how meth affects your life.
Umm ummm ummm ummm ANNOYING!! AS FUCK
can you use an abdominal enhancer wile on buprenorphine
you?
Always ask your pharmacist.
uhmm, ummm, ummm i couldnt listen to another uhmm after 5 minutes really annoying coming from a so called professional speaking correctly makes a huge difference
Are you suffering from Diabetes, mellitus disease? Dr Ncube has the cure for it. Inbox for more information....
notice there are really no solutions from anybody, just in a way "pain managment" i wonder why that is? i mean you can stop but if you have access it won't be for long. and the streets are flooded with it, plus its dirt cheap. all these studies, all its saying to me is that we need to stop it from coming across the border. whats the deal? its not rocket science. i don't see why they can't do anything about it. incompetence at the highest levels. so many great lives are being lost because of the incompetence of our administration. this goes for heroin aswell. its almost like its allowed because it creates revenue for the state. sad really
Its made easily enough these days right in mom and dads basement..
@@independentinstallations8419made easily sure but shake and bake is crap quality.! cartels get their stuff from china not walmart or walgreens huge difference.
@@MRNAFR33 I was not referring to the dangerous one pot method that not only produces such variable quality but has caused many serious injuries and even deaths by untrained so called clandestine chemists unaware how volatile this method is even when done correctly. Let’s not assume the old “biker meth” recipes were spread far and wide for several decades and as far as chemistry goes A/B extraction and purification through recrystallization is taught in intro to chemistry. Just as the prohibition of cannabis has driven it to become 10 times as potent as it once was the same can be and should be feared with all drugs. I realize purity cannot be improved upon any but the danger lies in the constant push to use other methods of production and producing a substance more toxic than the original was already. My point is drug policies have been wrong and actually driving the problem and the stigmas attached to certain drugs are harmful. If drug prohibition were about safety then why are 5 of the deadliest neurotoxins in existence not included in the controlled substances?
@@independentinstallations8419 i do agree with you on most of it. but everything can and will be impproved upon, their will always be somebody that can make it better stronger ect. thats just human nature. as far as stigma is concerned that rests soley on the addicts. the way they look and act, persnally hygiene and crooked behavior well 99% anyways. as far as policies, thats obviously the administration and their lacksidaisical way of protecting our borders, considering that 99% comes across it. the basement makers are not the problem right now they only account for maybe 1%. if this country cared enough about about its people and didnt hate them so much they would and could do something about this but the admin doesnt they hate their own people and it shows. i know just a little off subject but you just had to bring stigma and policies into it 🤔 take care brother
@@MRNAFR33The thing I will never argue is how incompetent and damaging this administration has been in just 7 months it’s not something that could be done accidentally making your statement about them hating the American citizens ring true. My stigma reference regarding drug use and policy is perhaps a long term goal for shaping a future that our demand would be so low that no use in bringing it cross borders but that’s a generational process. Take care!
